7/8 UPDATE: This is not the only UFO sighting like this from June 30th. Read more. Our favorite, most enthusiastic Texas UFO hunter East Texas UFOs has
- When: June 30th, 2013
- Where: Lake O Pines (northwest of Longview)
- What: Two fiery orbs hover for a while, slowly move through night sky, and then disappear
a new delivery (and a growing fan base, by the way)
. This time, he saw something in Lake O Pines, TX, versus his hometown, Longview. He records two bright flickering orange fireballs, sitting still and then moving slowly and quietly through the night sky, before vanishing. The witness can be heard on camera discussing his long history with these special UFOs - "the guys that changed [his] life." He was on his way to his new hometown (I think?) when he came across these and is elated to finally get footage of this particular type of UFO. He also explains how these orbs tend to follow a specific pattern, but unfortunately they don't follow the pattern he predicts. They do, however - very predictably, I might add - abruptly disappear. Unfortunately the video has no good references to completely confirm the narrator's
imaginative analysis, but it's still a fun watch. Read the video description and watch the video below:
At 10:20 PM at Lake, O the Pines TX, two UFOs appear above the water. I filmed as they raised in altitude. At about 10:25 PM the objects disappear without a trace. This is an ongoing occurrence that has been observed multiple times, and is still going on today.
And here are some quotes from the witness:
"Here we have a fireball... it's magnificent."
"My last chance to film them before I leave Texas ... the guys that changed everything in my life."
"Usually when they reach a maximum altitude, they disappear."
"Wow, they are amazing!"
"I can't believe I... actually got to capture them tonight!"
"I was doubting myself, but sure enough they show up, thank you, thank you for showing up for me!"
And a few interesting comments on the video, including one from the UFO chaser himself and a few from folks who've had similar experiences:
The area they were hovering over has an Island. Small but densely covered in 100 foot pine trees. I think they use that to morph or ect.. then go to the surrounding towns on and around the lake. But it is crazy, on a clear night they will always be there. Usually more than that, unseen on the video was a third one but I could not pick it up, so I left it be. - EastTexasUFOs
Good work - and I can feel your enthusiasm because I have had many UFO sightings especially in the 1970s. One was very close to me when I drove my motorbike through a warm summer night. That UFO really followed me in close distance over minutes. Then in a moment after it hovered close to me, it accelerated vertically in unbelievable speed. In two seconds it was out ouf sight. Another one I saw together with a friend. He was so scared but I felt happy. It was a huge and made strange noise. - Gerd E
Same thing I seen last year 2 months before the 4th of July and saw them on dec 22 I have video footage from Tacoma wa. Some people say there Chinese lanterns but they don't shift directions to where they were coming from and back and fourth to the left and right - Hs G
A local Texan - "EastTexasUFOs" - has collected quite the following over the past few months, and one of his latest video offerings might be one of his best to date.
- When: May 9th, 2013
- Where: Longview (East Texas)
- What: Large, bright, silent craft
The dedicated UFO chaser is well-liked for his, well, regular
sightings, harrowing, suspenseful commentary, and obligatory music soundtrack. This time around, he spots an extremely large, silent craft with many, multi-colored lights. In the end, he'll share his flight tracker app, which proves that there were no known crafts in the area at the time. Here's a video still:
Hang on tight, here's the vid:
And here's the video description:
On a drive back from work, I notice two strange amber colored lights following me as I race home to get my camera. What we see is the tail end of the last one post morph. I was lucky catch this as mild form of proof it actually happened. See video in the response to see one morph.
And this Texan UFO hunter has lots of fans. Comments on his videos are all along the lines of this:
I think i had an adrenaline rush just watching-so i totally understand how you must have been feeling.I love your vids, it's nearly like i'm there with you.I really appreciate what you are doing to help bring this topic to more people. Thanks- Geoff -
EastTexasUFOs is the kind of personality - repeat UFO spotting personality - that creates a need to track UFO sightings by witness.
- When: April 2nd, 2013
- Where: Longview (East Texas)
- What: Air craft with bright, flashing lights hovering for several minutes and then flying away
Why does this East Texan with a small accent and big passion for ETs get such frequent visits by said ET? He's been posting his personal UFO encounters to YouTube for four months now, and many have been picked up on top UFO sites like RealUFOs.net.
And why not? What's not
to love about his colorful, dramatic narratives? Many of his videos are - without context
- way too dark or blurry or dry to bother with sharing. But if you follow along with his super entertaining narrative and tolerable music soundtrack, you
begin to wonder about it, too.
Yeah, what hovers for 5+ minutes and then disappears into the night sky? Not a satellite
, says NASA's "Satellite Sightings." Perhaps a helicopter? Perhaps not? Its strobing lights are definitely intriguing, but I'm not so sure about paranormal
I think EastTexasUFOs would disagree, as he seems very tightly attached to the idea that ET is visiting, and visiting frequently, and visiting on the DL, cloaking itself as everyday planes and helicopters. But he cannot be fooled.
Although I'm not 100% convinced, I look forward to every new video he posts, as every new video makes me dust off that old Thinking Cap of mine.
In his latest video, his commentary is way more confident but a lot calmer than in past videos:
Some quotes from the video:
"What is this?"
"Well that's kinda dumb of me to say... I know what it is... at the same time I don't."
"Sporadic flashing everywhere."
"It's almost out of view here, so..."
And a few YouTube comments:
I love that you are so willing to chase these guys down! You need a night scope! I have one, and know how well you could see like what you've been filming! They get pricey, but to me it's an investment! - skahooch21
Well I saw something on March 29 that looked like something like that but I could see perfectly and it shook my whole house before I even saw it -

Low flying craft, changing speeds
Another video from local UFO chaser EastTexasUFOs
has made the rounds. This time, a very clear craft is caught on video, with at least four bright blinking lights. If you watch any single part of this clip, you're not going to be impressed. So what?
you might say.
However, what makes this video intriguing is (A) the witness confirms there are no flights overhead
with a flight tracker app they have handy (though I'm not sure how accurate the app is), and (B)
the witness is able to keep the craft in view for several minutes, so although it looks like a plane or jet, it is flying too low and slow to be one.
One leading theory about many UFOs is they are otherworldly or at least top-secret crafts cloaking themselves as typical planes or jets.
Here are some quotes from the video:
Are you kidding me? It's so freakin' low, man.
100% on that being a ... plane UFO
He's super slow right now... he's just over a patch of woods... across the main highway...going very slow.
Looked like it cloaked a jet pretty nicely.
No airport. At least in a 15 mile radius. Unless it was an emergency landing.
And the video:
- When: March 11th, 2013
- Where: Longview
- What: More than a dozen fireballs hovering near cell towers
An East Texas UFO hunter and his pals
routinely catch strange crafts and orbs on video. Either Longview is a UFO magnet, or these guys read into "normal" flying objects (like planes and balloons and road flares) too much.
The latest video is a whopping 10 minutes long, and features numerous fiery balls of light hovering in the sky
, with cell phone towers all around. Some comments on the video suggest drones - specifically UAV drones - as the explanation.
Here's one of those comments:
I've seen many UFOs and in daytime too but what your catching are UAV Drones. I've been watching the skies every night for the last three yrs and I have hrs of video and these are drones, they hover, they don't make noise, although sometimes they do but they sound like a lawn mower, check out dronehuntersus channel here on youtube -ProjectPhenix
If you follow this blog, then you've probably been introduced to the YouTuber EastTexasUFOs.
- When: February 27, 2013
- Where: Longview, TX
- What: Multiple blinking lights
Basically, this guy is no stranger to cool UFOs outside his home and he's got tons of videos to prove it. Of course it's up for debate whether the lights that he sees are all that mysterious, or if they simply belong to low flying planes. On one hand, the lights themselves aren't all that amazing and definitely resemble a commercial plane. On the other hand, they seem to hover in one spot for long periods of time, at one point the UFO features 5 lights that don't seem in any sort of logical formation, and the witness even brings up a "flight radar" app that proves there is no commercial craft in the area.Thoughts?
Here's some commentary form the video:
better shut up, so he doesn't dim out
hear that slight whistle of the jet engine sound? this is not a jet engine. tell me of a jet that looks like this.
this is over my house, i don't have to go anywhere to see these.
- When: February 16, 2013
- Where: Longview, TX
- What: Flashing Orbs
I recently discovered a great UFO hunter with a YouTube account called "East Texas UFOs."
This field investigator has captured many great UFOs on camera, and his latest is really interesting. His video shows two orbs sitting next to each other, one white and one red, and they're moving around the sky and flashing at each other. Could this just be a cheap plane flying around a little aimlessly, and only seeming to hover?
Apparently, these UFOs were witnessed by more than one person, and have been spotted in Longview before. See video, and quotes from it, below:
friends of the family are calling me up and saying "are you getting these, are you getting these?'
"'i filmed this one on multiple occassions"
"good to know i'm not the only one looking at it"
- When: February 13, 2013
- Where: Longview, TX
- What: Orb with Strobe Effect
An East Texas UFO chaser
has posted some pretty interesting video of a (seemingly) stationary gray light in the sky, with a strobe effect, lacking in the characteristics of a satellite or star. Plus, these particular orbs - or "sting rays," as the witness calls them in the video (not quite sure I understand that comparison, but maybe in person it'd make more sense)
- are not uncommon in Longview and have been captured on camera before (you can see an earlier video uploaded by the same person at the bottom of this entry)
