Report of strange purple lights, a white disc-shaped object hovering, and a suspicious black helicopter from a month ago has just now been submitted to MUFON. The photos are hard to judge, as it's not clear what's going on in each of them, but along with the witness testimony, it's definitely worth sharing: At the supper table of our daughter, our 4-year-old grand daughter pointed out the window and yelled "Look, look! Purple lines in the sky!" The fact that she noticed something like that surprised me as much as anything. I got up to look and there were several dark purple, elongated clouds(?) 15-20° above the horizon which were unusual and extraordinarily spectacular, but I thought were just very, long stringy clouds in the distance. A YouTube video featuring a blue light ascending into the night sky has surfaced, with a simple description: "Can any body tell me what this is." First, some screenshots and then the video: Did you see this as well? Report it!
Could this be a drone? Could it be related to the blue light that was spotted over San Antonio or Plano? Share your thoughts in the comments or on the Facebook page.
March 3rd, 2015 Update: Another report has confirmed this sighting - but at the Cotulla oil fields specifically. A father and son driving along south I-35 spotted orange balls of light disappearing and reappearing in different parts of the sky - first just three appeared, and then they were (seemingly) everywhere. Check out the testimony graciously submitted to Texas UFO Sightings: I was driving down I-35 southbound from San Antonio, TX to Laredo, TX. Between 8:25 - 8:30 pm, approximately, I saw, directly in front of me, up in the sky, 3 orange balls of light. They appeared one by one, in a line. And just as soon as they appeared they disappeared. A few minutes later, I was around mile marker 60 when I noticed another orange ball of light appear and disappear...this time it was a little more to the west of the first 3. Immediately after that, they started popping up everywhere directly to the west of me. We counted about a dozen or more appear and disappear. We did not see them move...just appear in a random space, disappear, and then reappear again in a different spot. Did you see these objects as well? Help solve the mystery and report your sighting.
Could these have been Chinese Lanterns? The day of the sighting was a Friday when a celebration might have been happening. However, the fact that the lights disappeared and reappeared in different parts of the sky implies something much more phenomenal. As well, strange lights like these have been spotted around Texas, one of the more compelling of those sightings was from Houston:
A couple driving along I-35 - between Austin and Dallas, near the city of Walburg - spotted two bright objects traveling at the same rate of speed and in the same direction, as if they were connected to each other. Could this have been a sighting of a large transparent craft or something equally as strange? Check out the detailed witness testimony, submitted to MUFON: My wife and I were driving north on Interstate 35 between Austin and Dallas this morning. The weather this morning was beautiful. Light wispy clouds. Blue skies. 54 degrees. No rain. Just perfect weather. The highway was dry—I was driving 75/80 MPH. I estimate there were between 30-40 vehicles on the road immediately in front of us. I first noticed these two objects at approximately 9:45 a.m. We were north of Georgetown, Texas and had just passed Exit 268. We exited the highway a few minutes later at Exit 275—stopping at the Flying J Travel Plaza to get gas. The time stamp on the gas receipt is 9:55 a.m. The two objects crossed the highway in front of us at an elevation of approximately 1000 feet. They were perfectly in-line with one another—approximately 3000 feet apart. It’s like they were flying on a stretched out wire—perfectly in-line with one another. They were identical in size, shape, and color. The shape and color of these two objects was contrasted against the blue sky. They were shiny—a bright white. There were no discernable wings, tails, landing gear, propellers, jet engines, windows, or lights. They were two cylindrical cigar-shaped objects with rounded nose and tails. I believe the objects were two-to-three miles ahead of us when I first saw them. They crossed just above the tree line traveling from west to east. They were in my field of view for 5-seconds and traveling at a high rate of speed. I pointed and asked my wife to look out her passenger window to see if she could see what I was watching. She watched the two objects for another 20-seconds until the topography to the east blocked her view. She said the objects did not alter their course, configuration, elevation, or speed—remaining quickly traveling to the east at a high rate of speed until they were no longer visible from her vantage point. Here is a photo the scene, though the UFOs do not show up here: Did you see a large craft in the Jarrell or Georgetown area? Or did you see two small cigar-shaped objects traveling in tandem? Report your sighting.

A Georgetown resident was star gazing in the backyard when they saw a planet... or satellite... or... UFO? Luckily, they submitted a report to MUFON about it. The UFO appeared to emit lights and hover. However, it also traveled - just very slowly. Here's a long-exposure photograph of the event: So...last night around 11:30pm, I was doing some suburban stargazing in my backyard when I noticed an abnormally bright object which I thought to be a planet at the time. I looked with binoculars and noticed that it was emitting lights. I proceeded to take some photos with my camera and tripod. Now, I know that streaking of lights can happen when you move during a long exposure, but this is sort of odd. I've simply never seen anything in the sky that gave off so many colors of lights. I eventually got S**** and A******* to take a look at it maybe 10 to 15 minutes later, and it had moved...but barely (maybe a fist length with arm extended). So, after a teeny bit of research, I found out that satellites don't usually have lights other than the international space station (not visible from the ground) plus there weren't any abnormally bright satellites in the area at the time anyways. So, it must have been an aircraft, but moving really really slow and giving off literally rainbows of flashing lights. Odd. Also strange that the streaking of lights does not seem to affect the stars in some of the photos. Did you this UFO as well? Report your sighting!
