One of the most terrifying and dangerous UFO encounters of all-time occurred in a place you might expect it to occur - the deep, dark, spooky woods. On December 29th, 1980, Becky Cash and Vicki Landrum, as well as Landrum's 7-year-old grandson Colby, were driving through the Piney Woods of East Texas when they spotted a large, diamond-shaped (but with no bottom or top) craft hovering overhead.
Becky, who was driving at the time, and Vicki stepped out of their vehicle to get a closer look, and as they were observing the ominous craft, which hovered in mid air and emitted flames before taking off, 20+ helicopters approached it. The sighting lasted an incredible 8-10 minutes. However, Becky and Vicki's decision to get a closer look at the UFO would soon prove to be a bad one.

When Betty and Vicki went back to re-enter their car, they noticed the door handles were hot to the touch! But that was only the beginning of their troubles.
All three witnesses ended up experiencing classic symptoms of radiation poisoning shortly after the encounter, including skin blisters, nausea and hair loss. Their medical ailments were so well-documented, in fact, especially for Betty Cash, that the witnesses sued the US government for their medical bills, claiming that it knew about the dangers of this UFO but were pretending to be ignorant about it. The US government denied any knowledge of the incident, however, and the suit was ultimately thrown out.

The only surviving witness of the Cash-Landrum Incident is Colby, the grandson of Vicki Landrum, and he has done an interview as an adult and shares the same basic memories of his grandmother.

Skeptics are hot on the trail, as well. One writer accused Betty and Vicki of hoaxing the incident, as it would be unlikely that the two would choose to watch the UFO (rather than flee the scene), and it would also be unlikely that the two would remember such great detail about the encounter (like the number of helicopters). None of this skepticism is warranted, if you ask me. If Vicky and Betty had continued driving and never stopped to observe the UFO, the same writer might ask "why didn't they stop to look at it or follow it?" Similarly, if Vicki and Betty didn't provide detail about their encounter, the same writer may accuse them of making it all up. Furthermore, the encounter lasted for several minutes, plenty of time to count up the number of helicopters in the sky.
This skeptical writer also claimed the US government had zero knowledge about any UFOs. In 2017, however, the New York Times revealed that the government has indeed investigated UFOs secretly, and in modern times. As always, you be the judge about whether this amazing UFO sighting is real or not. If it is real, it's one of the more disturbing UFO cases ever on record. Fun fact: the Cash-Landrum Incident occurred just one day after the Rendlesham Forest incident, a UFO case even more infamous!

If you are a Texan, you may remember the Alamo, but you may not remember the time that huge spaceship crashed in Aurora, Texas, killing the alien pilot inside. Unbelievably, there have been many reported alien UFO crashes over the years, from before and after Roswell, and one of the more amazing cases ever occurred as far back as 1897, well before planes, drones, satellites, or Elon Musk rockets could be misidentified.

According to local news reports as well as eyewitness reports, a large, metal cigar-shaped mystery craft crashed into a windmill. Inside the ship was a dead body that, according to witnesses, did not appear to be human and could have even been from Mars. The townspeople buried the body, and the rest is history.

Since the event, there have been many accusations that the story was hoaxed, all in an effort to drum up publicity for a dying town. However, there is no direct evidence that anything was hoaxed, just that different witnesses reported different details about the event (common with witness testimony), and it is important to note that other sightings of "mystery airships" just like the one in Aurora were well documented in the US during this time frame! In 1957, not long after Roswell, a small, copper-colored flying saucer crash landed in a village near Scarborough, England. Three friends were driving by the Silpho Moor when they saw the crashing object, which to them looked like a falling, red star. Coincidentally, their car abruptly stopped working. One of the friends, Fred Taylor, then left the stranded vehicle to have a look at the crash site. Taylor was lucky enough to stumble across a "mini" flying saucer, however when he tried to pick it up, he was surprised at how heavy the object was, likely 50 to 60 pounds.

Taylor was actually not able to retrieve the object at the time, due to its surprising weight, but eventually the physical evidence came to light.
The metal disc was nearly impossible to pry open, but it was worth the effort. Inside was a tiny book with 17 copper pages containing hieroglyphs, which were later and roughly translated to be an alien's warning to humankind to stop their violent ways. Unfortunately, the Silpho Moor saucer mysteriously disappeared, and has not been seen since. Until now.

Pieces of the famous saucer were just recently discovered hiding in the archives of a science museum, according to many news sources, including the BBC.
Some claim the UFO fragments have been tested and were proven to be of Earthly origin, and even suggest the UFO to be a hoax. UFO researchers may note many "markers" of this UFO case that give it some credibility, however, like the appearance of hieroglyphs (also seen on the Roswell UFO debris, and by witnesses of the Rendlesham UFO) and the witness' car malfunctioning (also common near UFO sightings, like in the Cash-Landrum incident in the 1980s in Texas). As well, even if the Silpho Moor flying saucer did not have the expected exotic material, that doesn't really prove that a hoax occurred. Just that the "alien" theory could be an oversimplified one. Consider this; if UFOs are real but are not of extraterrestrial origin, could they be of unknown terrestrial origin? Could there be "aliens" living among us?

What is perhaps even more amazing than this report is that there have been others like it before. TexasUFOs covered two similarly interesting "jellyfish" UFO sightings, one in Texas in the December of 2016, and one in the Caribbean during that same year. In the case in the Caribbean, the sighting was caused by lightning. However, the case in Texas still has no explanation.

Amazing footage showing a dark and ominous craft flying slowly over Santiago, Chile in 2013 has started to make the rounds on the Internet again. The video is one of the more impressive ones out there, but unfortunately over the years, details about the sighting have been lost.
