For the week of Friday, September 2nd, 2016 (click here if you missed last week), here are your top five UFO and paranormal news stories and sightings! From exciting mainstream news about alien life to not-so-mainstream news about Bigfoot, there's a lot of fun stuff to get through! Here we go...

5. SETI Investigating Alien Signal from Space

Back in 2015 a Russian telescope picked up a strange signal coming from a star 94 light years away from planet Earth called HD 164595. The finding is making headlines today because SETI has announced that it is officially investigating the signal, bringing it to the public for the very first time ever.  Up until now, the discovery was kept secret. Like any phenomenal science story, it is already being "debunked" as not being alien communication, but instead likely originating from planet Earth, which as you can recall was how the famous  "Wow" signal from the 1970s was also "debunked." So far, however, even the most skeptical scientists can't rule much out right now. Those concluding aliens are contacting Earth, however, may be a bit too quick to the punch as well - however it's interesting to note that alongside this secret discovery have been mounds of news items and rumors out of Russia about alien contact and even wars... Astronomers are currently listening to the star and hope to hear the signal again, which would not only confirm the  discovery but allow them to decipher more from it.

4. Mysterious Large Craft Hovers Over NYC

On August 5th, people on a New York City boat tour witnessed a large, elongated craft hovering over the skyline, before making a sharp turn and taking off. No blimps were scheduled to be in the area at the time, and regardless of that, the object did not behave like a blimp. This sighting is similar to recent ones in Manchester, England and Cleveland, Ohio.

3. Tom Delonge Posts Bigfoot Sighting to Instagram

Former Blink 182 guitarist and singer Tom Delonge really got the Bigfoot community going when he posted to Instagram a supposed photograph of Sasquatch tromping around in the forest town of Happy Camp in Northern California, a place where Bigfoot has been seen before. It wasn't Tom, however, who saw the hairy creature. Instead it was a "friend of a friend," according to the caption of the Instagram post. Tom recently made a name for himself in the UFO community by switching gears from full-time rock music to UFO research and writing, penning a fiction novel and currently working on a documentary exposing the truth about UFOs. He still leads the band Angles & Airwaves, but seems to be dabbling in all areas of the paranormal right now!

2. Triangle UFO Craft Over South Carolina

On the evening of August 26th, in a still-unknown South Carolina town, neighbors stepped outside to witness three bright lights in the sky, moving in formation. One of the witnesses was able to capture video and submit it along with testimony to MUFON (case 78808). While some people online are speculating that it could be Chinese lanterns, others are certain this is video of a triangle craft moving slowly and, at times, turning, and could perhaps be the rumored top-secret military triangle craft the TR-3B.

1. UFO Takes Out SpaceX Rocket?

On September 1st, SpaceX attempted to launch a Facebook-funded satellite into space, which was to give Internet to parts of Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. This is a big story by itself, but it is one that the UFO community found itself getting its hands into, as it appears that a UFO hits the rocket before it explodes.  Could this just be a bird or a bug as some suggest?  As always, you be the judge. It's important to note that a similar occurrence of a UFO seeming to collide with a rocket and cause an explosion happened back in Russia in May 2014.
