Strange White Orbs Hover Over Daytime Sky in New York

Recent photos sent into MUFON (#87024) show bright white balls of light moving slowly in the daytime sky over New York:

Several circular objects flying together in a formation paused, hovered, and then rapidly accelerated and disappeared.

Could these UFOs simply be balloons or even geese? Drones and typical commercial aircraft definitely don't fit the bill. For what it is worth, this sighting is similar to others like it, which have escaped debunking so far, including in Japan in 2011 during and after the deadly earthquake and disaster that struck the country:
