UPDATE: Although the witness documented this photo as being taken in 2014, it appears it was really taken in 2009 (see time stamp on photo). Still worth sharing! Someone, somewhere in Texas uploaded the strangest photo to MUFON. Of course it was accompanied by the vaguest of descriptions. However, said photo is the product of a deer cam. Deer cams get to see the best stuff! I guess when you're not an eyewitness to something like this, you're rendered pretty speechless. Anyhow, check out the following photo (and witness description) featuring a... robot?... lurking in the field: Picture was taken by a game camera. Object was not in the picture taken 30 seconds before or after. A passerby ("Scott") comments: what the heck is going on with these game cams? there have been almost 10 accounts of someone reporting unexplained lights or crafts on their pictures that were taken on game cams and most of them in texas. its like these things want to be seen for some reason. Do you have any ideas on what this deer cam captured? Are we experiencing a trick of the eye? Are we seeing something quite mundane here = perhaps a bug or bird?

Austin has been a magnet for some pretty crazy UFOs over the past year, most notably the triangle craft that hovered over ACL this past October. Well, the latest YouTube video to come out of the city is no less impressive. Check out the following photo recap, video, and witness testimony - which detail the account of a strange ball of light hovering in the mid night air, bopping around in circles, and eventually shooting straight down to... well, seemingly the ground. It's similar to a another sighting in the area from about a month earlier. Screenshot #1 #2 & #3... Here's the video, as well as some quotes from it in case you're at work and can't watch!: We're watching a UFO that's changing directions over Austin. Finally, here's the original testimony submitted to iReport.Cnn.com: We saw this UFO/drone moving in ways that normal airplanes certainly don't over downtown Austin last night 1/10/14 around 8:30pm. We initially thought it was the police helicopter, until it suddenly stopped and moved in a different direction. It maneuvered erratically for about 2-3 minutes before I thought to get out my iPhone and start recording it. This was video was taken from the Cherywood coffee house parking lot on 38 1/2 Street looking southwest toward downtown Austin. If it is some sort of drone, the FAA should at least know about this activity. Did you spot this Austin UFO? If so, report your sighting. If you have theories as to what this could have been (drone, CGI, RC plane, helicopter?), sound off in the comments!
Texans - (from Austin to Houston to Dallas) looking up at the night sky on the nights of December 28th and 29th were in for quite a treat, as shooting stars were definitely making some grand appearances. As with other recent meteor sightings in Texas and the world, the fireballs were gigantic and close to the ground! 2013 was a record setting year for meteors and so far, it looks like records will continue to get broken in 2014. Folks who spotted the shooting stars flooded AMSMeteors.org and TUS with their reports. Here's the map from the bigger sighting on the 28th (from AMSMeteors.org): As well as a few witness reports from the December 28th sighting: The entire sky lit up green and I saw a large green fireball with a fiery tail shoot across the sky over Oklahoma and then completely disappear a couple seconds later. Never seen one so close before.- Meida L, Oklahoma And some from December 29th: "It was one of the best meteors I have seen to date, and I've been watching at least 3-4 per year for the last 7 years" - Brandon B, Cleburne During the same time range, Texans in Anthony, Redwater, and George West, TX saw UFOs as well, but UFOs that clearly were not meteors... I'll be investigating these sightings and sharing those details shortly - not sure yet if they're related. For all we know, the December 28th and 29th mass meteor sightings were really mass UFO sightings. : ) Please let TUS know if you have anything at all to add to this story - surely these dramatic fireballs were spotted by Texans all over!
Texan Cory Cole spotted a fiery object in the sky behaving rather oddly (like shooting other objects out of it). Cole was kind enough to submit a photo and testimony to TUS: I was driving along I 35 when I saw a k Iight in the sky that looked like a ball of fire all the sudden three objects came out of the ball and it looked like they hovered or floated in opposite directions at a rapid pace. This might have been a military flare, burning air craft, or meteor, but as of right now, it's a big mystery. If you saw this UFO, help us solve the mystery by sending a report!
Back in fall, people all over Texas (including La Grange) witnessed a flying saucer of sorts - bright blue lights, elongated shape (see illustration below, originally submitted to Lights in the Texas Sky.com). Well, it appears this UFO is making a comeback in La Grange. A TUS reader was kind enough to submit their terrifying encounter with an oval shaped, metallic craft flying in their direction, while drying. They likened it to the reports from October: We were driving in direction to Austin, near La Grange around 8pm. Have you seen this mysterious craft? Report your sighting!
