When lunar eclipses, meteor showers and other anticipated space events occur, there are always a lot of UFO sightings that come along with them - more people are looking up, after all! But that doesn't make those UFO sightings any less important. In the Austin area, people saw lights in a V formation on the night of the eclipse. In the Dallas area, they saw something else entirely: a fiery reddish orb bouncing around the moon for at least 30 minutes. Two witnesses captured the event on camera and sent detailed reports to MUFON, while a third witness also sent testimony to MUFON. Although it's difficult to explain this sighting, it does appear it was concentrated in the Dallas area (only Irving and Celina have been buzzing about this so far), ruling out satellites, stars and other outer space phenomenon. Check out the photos and testimony out of Irving: April 15, 2014, around 1:00-1:15am, I went outside to watch the lunar eclipse and I was taking pictures and saw the red orb, or whatever it is, moving around the moon. When I first noticed it I thought it might be a plane from the airport near by.....but then I thought you dummy planes aren't round. The object moved around the moon and behind it and came out the other side. It was pretty interesting. I just kept taking pictures. I figured enough is enough and went to bed. Didn't think anything about it till I showed a friend the next day and he was amazed. So here it is. As well as Celina: I was visiting a friend in Celina for a week. My last night in town I heard about the eclipse earlier in the day, so went out in front of the house and aimed my camera at the moon. I noticed two bright shapes by the moon. At first I thought they were both stars so started taking pics and saw one begin to move. I just started snapping shots and continued. Seemed like a couple minutes. I watched the shape move in triangular motions and then directly above or below or in front or behind the moon. It then began to descend further south and then faded into the sky. Pic details show this went on for 35 minutes occurring from 1:11 am to 1:44. I took pics of the eclipse at 2:23 or so and there was only one other object in the sky and the moon was in the eclipse. And another report out of Celina: Outside smoking a cigarette waiting to see the blood moon when it just appeared a star like object bouncing then disappeared and reappeared bouncing disappearing and reappearing all over ascended and disappeared in min. Shocked and Amazed! Were you checking out the Lunar Eclipse in Texas? Did you see any UFOs show up alongside the Blood Moon? Report your sighting! If you didn't get to see this yourself, perhaps you have theories on what this could have been? Feel free to share your insights in the comments section or on the Texas UFO Sightings Facebook page! I was outside taking pictures of the Sun with my cell phone from 5:00 PM till 5:15 PM and my husband came outside & suggested taking some of the Moon, so I did. I took four pictures. I took one zoomed in first so I could capture detail of the Moon, then zoomed out on my second one. I sat down in my chair outside and looked at the two pictures. I noticed a black object to the left of the Moon in the picture that was not zoomed in. I thought: How interesting it was that it was in one picture and not the other. Well, I got up from my chair and walked a few extra feet and took two more pictures. I did one zoomed in and one zoomed out. Then I sat back down in my chair outside and looked at them. The one that was not zoomed in, had the black object in it but the other did not. This time, the shape was different. It now had what appeared to be a streak behind it like it was moving. My first thought was: Hum! Wonder what it is & why did it not show up in either of my close up pictures? Well, my husband & I came inside and I plugged my cell phone to my computer and uploaded the pictures. Until more witnesses surface, it's pretty easy to assume this was a bird, debris or helicopter - especially considering the photographer did not see the UFO with their naked eye. However, the fact that the object only showed up in photos that were zoomed out and not in the zoomed in photos taken at same time is definitely odd.
If you've seen any UFOs in the Paige/Austin area recently that resemble this, please send a report.
4/18 Update: Other UFOs by the moon were also reported on this evening in the Dallas area. A few Texans were up very late on the night of the 15th hoping to watch the Lunar Eclipse and they saw much more than the legendary Blood Moon... UFOs! In Austin and Temple (both in Central Texas), a silent formation of white lights - V and boomerang shaped at times - attempted to steal the spotlight from the gorgeous eclipse. Thomas R kindly submitted testimony from a sighting at East Stassney in Austin: My Roomate and I were watching the blood moon and at about 2:40 am when a series of lights in a very large v shape formation appeared just north of us and moved quickly east before they vanished. The formation did not make any noise. As well, Daniel R of Temple was also gracious enough to share a very detailed testimony of a similar encounter: We set the alarm for 2am to go out and see the lunar eclipse. Walked out the front door at 2:05. About 2:10am my wife said, "what is that". Directly above me standing in the street we saw 4 objects go by, south to north , oblong shape oriented like you would see birds wings in flight. The relative size was about the width of my fingernails at arms length, moving fairly fast. "That is strange, why would birds be flying at night," I said. It was very dark since the moon was fully eclipsed with the typical red faint glow. My wife said, "Birds don't glow in the dark". I then realized we were seeing UFOs. I had my IPHONE out and had taken a picture of the moon which came out faintly, but these were faint enough not to be picked up. Tried several times. My wife though they had a slight boomerang shape. They went from overhead banking to the left west. The angle was at about 10 o'clock then. They reversed position backtracking back to the north also at 10 o'clock, then back west and disappeared. Although they were together, each moved independently, sometimes close together and other times spread out somewhat, not a rigid formation. The total view time was about 20 seconds. We were excited. Still standing there talking about it, they came back again, this time though further away, about 1/4 the diameter of my finger nails at arms length. This time I counted the seconds of appearance, 32 seconds. Again coming from the south, making a circle of 270 degrees at 10 o'clock, disappearing into the west again. Sometimes closely packed, weaving back and forth eventually into a line almost straight spaced by about 3 finger widths between each. We stayed in the street until 2:50am, but no more activity, so went in. I have never seen anything like this except on TV footage. Finished typing this at 4:05am. Have you seen these UFOs recent? Many residents of San Antonio were startled by dull, repetitive booming sounds on the night of April 13th. Strange and disturbing sounds have been emanating from the Earth in destinations all over the world for a few years now, and Texans have heard them, too. Could this be related? Probably not (read on)... Here's the account from a forum member on Godlikeproductions.com: I live on the northeast side of San Antonio. About 30 minutes ago, while watching Game of Thrones, my wife and I began to hear strange booming sounds outside. We walked out the front door and saw our next door neighbors in their yard. They said, "It's not us." It wasn't because the sounds were coming from the opposite direction. While this was no doubt an eerie experience for this couple, it appear we might have a reasonable explanation: fireworks. Although the witnesses didn't see fireworks (and they looked for them), all month long there are parades and celebratory events going on in San Antonio as part of the annual Fiesta San Antonio. Here are some other thoughts on the matter: "Just heard a lot of loud booms in San Antonio. 4/13/14 wondering if anyone else heard these" However, with the Earth shifting and the strange sounds heard around the world, it's always worth reporting on events like these. If you've been hearing odd booming noises in San Antonio that can't be explained by fireworks, report it!
Over the past few nights, Texas UFO Sightings and MUFON received three reports of bright fireballs in the sky that behaved too strangely to be deemed a meteor. Could these sightings be related? The sighting at Lake Gilmer may have been of a triangular craft however, whereas the sightings in Katy and Cypress don't mention such a shape. There was a fantastic meteor reported over the Northeast United States, so perhaps Texas got a meteor or two, too. Andrew K of Pennsylvania described it as "much brighter and more round" than a typical shooting star on the AMSMeteors.org website. Read similar reports kindly submitted to Texas UFO Sightings: April 8th in Katy: Yellow to orange light that looked like a fireball. Seen flying across the sky over our house at appx 2100 hours. It was completely silent, no other aircraft in sight. About two minutes after it passed two airplanes flew by. The two airplanes were clearly distinguishable. It was moving too fast to be a helicopter. April 9th in Cypress: Bright light in sky, then looked like a spaceship with red light and and either green or yellow. Was remaining still took off straight up and then turned and flew over my home, towards neighbors and disappeared.behind homes and trees.seem to start descending. Not sure what I saw but was not a plane. As well as the MUFON report from April 10th at Lake Gilmer: Me and my fianc were fishing on lake gilmer in an evening tournament. I felt an odd sensation that made me look up. We are in a flyway from the Dallas area airports and there were several airplanes in the area. As I scanned the sky's I saw a starlike object that looked somewhat triangular in shape that was traveling at a high rate of speed with no flashing light. I told my fianc to take a look due to the speed. At that time we were both looking at it and it disappeared. We both got chills and started scanning the sky's when we saw another object just like the first. It flashed randomly then disappeared. About 1 second later it flashed very bright. We never saw it after that. We watched the sky's for 30 minutes and saw shooting stars and airplanes. These triangular object were not anything like airplanes in the area. They were as high or higher than the airplanes but 3 times faster. Did you see a large fireball or fireball-like object in Texas over the past few nights? Report it!
