Photos of a yellow sphere-shaped object have been uploaded to MUFON (case 124998) by the witness, who claims it to be a UFO. Now, at first glance, the photos appear to show a lens flare, however upon further examination, I'm not so sure... The photos and testimony remind me of other unexplained sightings in Texas from over the years, and in fact, it all reminds me of the rare, naturally-occurring, but poorly-understand phenomenon called "ball lightning." According to NationalGeographic.com, ball lightning can appear during thunderstorms. So, it's worth noting that this specific UFO was seen as a storm was rolling in: I was on my deck when a storm was rolling in. I have the photos of what it looked like. But could these photos just show lens flares? The witness may have even been viewing the UFO through a camera lens, or a window, and misidentifying the object (rather than being deceptive).
I am trying to find out whether or not a thunderstorm ended up rolling in that evening, but I haven't been able to so far. Texas is known for its short thunderstorms, however, and so it's possible I won't be able to find a record of one. A really bizarre report of a "bright fiery object" changing shapes and then eventually disappearing over a lake in Texas has been submitted to NUFORC (case 144219). Before the UFO mysteriously vanished, "three smaller objects" flew up into it: We saw a bright fiery object in the sky that changed shape frequently and had smaller objects fly up towards it.
Is it possible that this is mistaken report of ball lighting, versus a UFO? Ball lightning is a rare, but real natural weather phenomenon wherein a literal ball of lightning hovers or moves across the sky. Famous engineer Nikolas Tesla was famous for experimenting with ball lightning.

According to a recent MUFON report (case 91089), multiple people witnessed a bright ball of light wander around the daytime sky with their naked eye: saw a never before seen seen round blue [light] in sky moving
While at first glance, these photos seem to show a lens flare, I think these photos may actually show a UFO. In some photos, the blue light seems to go behind some clouds. As well, the light was seen with the naked eye instead of when viewing photos later.
Other cases like this have been reported before, including in California in January 2011. What could these witness have seen? Could this blue ball of light be an example of a rare but real natural phenomenon called "ball lightning"? Could this be a spirit orb, aliens, weird weather, or even a hoax? YouTube video showing a bright fiery orb hovering near the sun, followed by the appearance of additional, blinking orbs, has been uploaded: Orbs reflecting in the setting sun. This same evening we witnessed strobes in the sky around midnight in the vicinity of the ABIA. The flashes were in varying parts of sky and decreased in intensity before we could no longer see them. These events took place 8/12/2017, the same night of an intense meteor shower.

A report of a "bright white sphere" growing and shrinking in size and disappearing over Texas has been submitted to NUFORC (case S136074): Bright white sphere high in the morning sky, illuminating light grows in size, then vanishes in an instant.
Considering the recent hurricane activity in the area, could this be a case of "ball lightning?" TexasUFOs also reported on strange lights over Mexico during a recent earthquake, which could represent a similar phenomenon called "earthquake lights."
Many cases of bright spheres of light performing strange moves over witnesses have been reported over the years, and sometimes even seem to be intelligent or at least intelligently controlled, like the Cash-Landrum incident in East Texas during the 80s, or the many accounts of lights going into and out of volcanoes, or even a case from January 2011 in California where an orange ball of light hovered for several minutes:
