Yesterday evening, a really gigantic asteroid got a little too close for comfort, if you ask me. Not to worry, NASA says, because it's too far away to harm us. However, on that same token they say they are ramping up efforts to detect threats like these in advance and prevent them from damaging the planet. Hey Obama, can we get NASA more funding!? Meanwhile... on the very same evening Texans spotted some pretty spectacular meteors, so certainly the asteroid has - at the very least - flung some stuff our way... and are likely, if not certainly agitating our current wave of storms. Check out these riveting descriptions, reported into the wonderful resource AMSMeteors.org: A bright streak, going up and to the right, that quickly faded, no smoke, just a very bright streak.. I would like to know if anyone else saw, recorded or reported this phenomenon, it seemed odd that it appeared to be going up, but I'm guessing it was an optical illusion due to its trajectory as it entered the atmosphere. - Adam H. in College Station This video surfaced a few hours ago of what appears to be Asteroid 1998 QE2 in action: Here are a few interesting quotes from the USA Today article: Astronomers plan to study asteroid set to pass Earth to avert future catastrophes.

Apparently, UFO reports spiked on the night of May 22nd, thanks to the flight of the first solar plane, which can fly day and night without fuel emissions (amazing). It landed at the DFW Airport at 1 AM on Wednesday. The extremely large craft is definitely a cool sight, and its slow and silent movement, large amount of lights, and hovering abilities would most certainly have caused a passerby to scratch their head. What makes this story even more intriguing is recently we heard about a mass UFO sighting in the town of Quincy, MA - of "an airplane ... buzzing around the city, flying low and slow." As if that isn't spooky enough, the FAA knows what's up but isn't telling! A Quincy resident said "it's more than weird, it's frightening ... I don't know if they're looking for somebody ... they won't tell us." The only thing the FAA had to say about the matter is: "aircraft is not a drone, it's manned, and we have to be very careful this time." Could this solar plane be what Quincy residents saw? And if so, why is the FAA being so creepy about it? Here's a video of the "UFO" landing: Here are a few quotes from a local San Antonio news story about it: The carbon fibre Solar Impulse, with a 208-foot wingspan, flew in from Phoenix during its second leg of a cross-country trip that began May 3 from the San Francisco Bay Area. The plane is the first able to fly day and night without fuel or polluting emissions. I'm not seeing any of the UFO reports really, but there was one submitted to MUFON and I think it might be describing this plane leaving the DFW airport: My friends were outside waving for me to go outside and look. I looked towards the DFW airport direction and saw a cigar shaped object with red & green lights on the ends and a red light in the middle that was flashing. It was swaying back & forth changing direction. It kind of resembled a plane but it swayed oddly. Wierd! it slowly drifted towards the south. it was hard to see it at times because of the trees. it was kind of scary I've never seen anything like that before Here's a video about the recent mass sighting in Quincy that the FAA is mum on: Wow, what a month this is turning out to be!... I can only imagine what's in store for us this Memorial Day weekend. Sorry in advance for this lengthy, light-on-investigation post. I got majorly behind on the latest sightings and need to play catch up. This is a list of recent sightings that I missed, not the full list of recent sightings! I will be comparing these reports to other recent reports over the coming days and see if there are any correlations (I'm sure there are). For now, though, you'll have to make your way through this chunky blog entry... View Recap in a larger map Here goes. May 1st: San Antonio tweet: Wtf did anyone just see those 3 red lights disappear? In the sky #Ufo #SanAntonio May 7th: Alpine, Del Rio, Texarkana, & Corsicana MUFON report: ... My eyes were drawn to 2 blinking lights that seemed to be out toward 118 North. They were far apart but perfectly in line with each other and kept blinking red, not at the same time and not in any pattern that I could notice but like they were blinking at each other. ... They were perfectly motionless for about 3 full minutes, just blinking red. No movement whatsoever. Then, they just faded away. ... They were already there when I stepped outside. I will also add that there was no sound, but I attribute that to them being so far away ... This morning I called our local municipal airport to inquire about the lights, and asked about government drones. The man I spoke with confirmed that drones don't fly this far inland ... he did state that what I probably saw were helicopters but they don't usually fly in pairs or in groups of more than one around here. He also confirmed that there was no air traffic ... he didn't want them [drones] here. So, I have been left baffled. When I first saw these lights, I immediately dropped the broom I was holding, turned off my porch light and stared stunned. We live in a dark sky community and I know what airplanes look like at night. This was something I had never seen before and could not take my eyes off of them. My heart began beating quickly and it just left me kind of numb and in deep thought the rest of the night. I've also had a headache (even as I type this), ever since coming back into the house last night. ... I do live near the airport and I am the wife of a border patrol agent, ... I have a friend who saw a very similar event about 2 weeks ago.
MUFON report: I thought to myself "Is that star moving?" ... there were 3 stars in a triangle pattern, the top right star all of a sudden started moving. ... I didn't see any clouds at all and thought it was strange but it must have been a satellite. but right after it disappeared I noticed another one moving in the same direction same same level as if it were following the first one and disappeared just about the same spot. ... they looked just like all the other stars in the sky. ... I found a post from someone online that I believe saw the same thing. UFO blogger site I think. ... believe I was looking in the direction of Alpine ... I had gone inside and posted it on Facebook that night as well. The post is still there May 9th, Sugar Land: ("debunked" by a commenter as lens flare)
May 11th: Houston and Southlake
May 12th: San Antonio and Comanche
I almost didn't post this sighting, but I think it's worth reporting on in case anyone else saw something this and can elaborate. A video was uploaded by an Irivng, TX resident showing two white objects in the daytime sky, one - a solid orb flying past the moon, and the other - also flying across the sky, but with a contrail. Honestly, both these objects could simply be planes. But what strikes me about this video is the commentary - the witness recording the UFOs is rattled, even creeped out by the objects, and you can hear kids in the background, also excited about what they're seeing. Read a few quotes from the video and then watch the video yourself and let me know what you think! Are these UFOs or are these simply planes/helicopters? "Very creepy Here's the video:
UFOs and normal air crafts colliding are nothing new. In fact, orbs and helicopters have been seen together a lot lately - in Fort Hood and Houston. Here's the full MUFON report: I was sitting in my car and noticed a jet with a chem trail and then I seen a white dot cross paths but this object had no chem trail as it went the opposite direction at the same speed and faded away after less than a minute. I dont think it was a bird because it was too high and fast. I seen the same thing about a month ago in Lewisville but the object was following a jet real close for a couple minutes. |
