"Looked like a crashing object yellow and white" - UFO Caught on North Austin Security Camera

3/14/2022

  • When: March 1st, 2022 at 4:18 AM
  • Where: North Austin
  • What: Fireball descending (could also be a plane or something easier to explain, due to the distortion/exaggeration that can show up in a security camera)
Security camera footage showing a possible UFO over North Austin has been sent to me by James Barrett, who wrote "Security camera caught a roundish object falling out of the sky, Appeared to be smoking and damaged."

Check out the video and let me know what you think it shows. Could this be a meteor? Or crashing alien spaceship? Or is there an even easier explanation, like a plane or something more mundane that looks exaggerated on the security camera? Let me know, as always, what you think in the comments below, or on Twitter or Facebook:

Meteor....Rocket...UFO? Seen Over Texas - Mass Sighting

7/18/2020

  • When: July 18th, 2020
  • Where: All over Texas
  • What: "String of lights"

Multiple videos and reports of a "string of lights" streaming through the nighttime sky have been reported. These lights were seen all around the state, with sighting reported as early as midnight, and as late as 6:45 am. Sightings as far away as Ingram and Winkler County, Texas (that's a four-hour drive) were reported around the same time, however, at 2 AM.

Check out the original witness videos below, as well as testimony that was submitted to MUFON. Many are suggesting that these lights could be a meteor shower (perhaps the delta Aquariids or the Perseids). Meanwhile, the "South Texas Weather Updates" Facebook page is suggesting that this is a crashing Russian rocket, specifically the SL-4 rocket body, which has the ID 44799. I did confirm that this rocket was expected to re-enter the Earth's atmosphere on July 17th, so this theory is not far off.

Odessa, TX sighting captured on video by witness Tara ONeal, according to CBS7.com:

Ingram, TX sighting, captured on video by a local sheriff (according to a source of mine), and posted to the "South Texas Weather Updates" Facebook page:

The following video was provided to James Boyd. He was a witness. At approximately 2:01 AM on 7/18/2020 what’s believed to be Russian SL-4 ROCKET BODY (ID 44799) made reentry and was seen by many across northern South TX. Video taken from northwest Webb County, Texas. At the time it was believed to be a large satellite or possibly the ISS, but upon further review of databases and based on trajectory and timing it is likely SL-4; 44799. The SL-4’s reentry was a catastrophic reentry causing it to disintegrate.

Granite Shoals, TX testimony submitted to  MUFON (case 110213):

"Pretty straightforward. It looks similar to a string of lights like Christmas lights in a tube or the lights on a theater floor. No sound and no emission. Flying at a similar altitude as a small prop plane so pretty low. It seemed illusory like a projection"
Here's a map of where this "meteor" or "rocket" or "UFO" was reportedly seen:

Did you also see this incredible sky event? Report your sighting!

Do you have theories on what this was? A meteor? A rocket? An alien spaceship? I did find it curious that all the videos show the lights traveling upward, rather than crashing downward. That may be a clue as to what exactly happened here. As always, let me know what you think here in the comments, or on social (I'm on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook).

Project Blue Book Investigated UFO Over Kerrville, Texas

6/30/2020

  • When: October 1960
  • Where: Kerrville
  • What: Unidentified fireball

From 1952 to 1969, the United States Air Force investigated UFO sightings for "Project Blue Book." During the time of the program, over 12,000 UFO reports were collected. And many of those reports were from Texas! For example, here are some declassified Project Blue Book files that detail a sighting of an unidentified fireball over Kerrville, Texas in October of 1960:

The Project Blue Book investigators concluded that this Kerrville UFO was "probably a meteor." They then suggested to forward the files to the Aerospace Technical Intelligence Center at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

What's interesting is that Project Blue Book ended up concluding the same thing for almost every UFO report it received... every UFO was determined to be non-threatening, and of terrestrial origin. However, J Allen Hynek was a scientific advisor for Project Blue Book at the time, and he famously stated that the organization's primary goal was not to learn about UFOs, but  "to keep the public from getting excited" about them.

In December 2017, Hynek's claims would be well-proven. The New York Times revealed that the investigation of UFOs did indeed continue after Project Blue Book ended in 1969, just not publicly! And that UFOs could be threatening, and could be extra-terrestrial in origin.

So, maybe Project Blue Book files are worth revisiting?

Recently, US senators requested the release of all UFO files, and so more will likely be revealed soon. For now, we can watch the fictional series "Project Blue Book" on the History Channel (and Amazon) and fill in the gaps ourselves.

Mystery Green Light, and More Weirdness, Over Waco, Texas

6/5/2020

  • When: May 26th, 2020 at 9:26 PM
  • Where: Waco
  •  What:  Erratic green light (possible meteor sighting?)

A Texas resident taking pictures of the nighttime sky was surprised by the sudden appearance of mystery green light, according to a recent MUFON report (case 109118):

S in the sky. My 5th photo a green light appears with erratic flight pattern quick directional change and disappeared...

Taking photo of 3 white star-like things in the sky. My 5th photo a green lighted thing burst into the picture out of nowhere, flew (in an) erratic directional pattern, changing flight pattern(s) abruptly, and disappeared. All last approx 5 sec. Only able to get one photo taken by cellphone. It was GREEN...! All of it. This was at 9:26pm May 26,2020
Now, could this be a meteor? There was a large fireball, or meteor, seen in the area by many during the month of May. But that meteor was seen three nights after this event, so it could be unrelated.

It's also worth mentioning that this hasn't been the only recent UFO sighting in Waco. A few nights before this, on the evening of May 25th, another witness wrote into MUFON (case 109082), describing a "softball-sized orb flashing" in their backyard, which was followed by a "bright beam of white fast flickering light" that traveled through the sky. The initial orb eventually shot off and disappeared into the sky. At the time of the event, a thunderstorm was underway, so the witness reasoned they could have been observing "ball lightning." Ball lightning is a rare but known natural phenomenon that I have documented many times on this website!

As for these recent sightings in Waco, though, I don't think ball lightning is to blame. But maybe not aliens, either.

Let me know what you think of these recent Texas UFO Sightings in the comments, or on social (I'm on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).

"The object was falling like a shooting star and then stopped above the ground"

2/1/2020

  • When: December 23rd, 2019 at 9:06 PM
  • Where: Lipon (southwest of Dallas)
  • What: Sphere "falls" from sky and then stops and speeds off

A really interesting report of a "shooting star" that then stopped and changed directions, has been reported to NUFORC (case 152105):
yellowish haze sphere seen falling from the sky and then compressing and shooting westward

The object was falling like a shooting star and then stopped above the ground and compressed and thinned out and shot west. There was only one and it was round with a faint yellow haze/glow that shifted to a white and blue glow. It was seen approximately 2-3 miles off from the crossroads of HWY 281 and Lipan.

Although there were no photos or videos taken of this incident, a similar phenomenon was seen south of Lipon, near Belton, Texas on November 30th:
Picture
Meteor-like object that stops to hover and then flies around over Belton, Texas area on November 30th 2019
What's going on here? Meteors don't change directions, and planes certainly don't look like yellow or orange fireballs falling down from the sky, so what could these witnesses be seeing? Spaceships? Share your thoughts in the comments below, or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
