Falling "Star" Flies Through Sky - Two Witnesses in Texas

1/4/2020

February 1, 2020 Update:
A similar "UFO" may have been seen on December 23rd in Lipon, Texas, north of this sighting. Could the UFOs be related?

Original story
  • When: November 30th, 2019
  • Where: Belton/Temple, Texas area around 8 PM
  • What: Meteor-like object that stops to hover and then flies around

A really fascinating account of a star-like object that "suddenly" started falling from the sky and then stopped and turned directions before continuing to fly, has been reported to MUFON (case 105020). According to the witness, another person also saw the same UFO and shared a photo of it on Facebook. Check out the witness' testimony and the purported photo below:

round object surrounded by 8 blinking exterior lights

I went outside to smoke a cigarette, when i noticed a star that i had never seen before and suddenly behind this star an orange tube began to form as the star came down from the sky at an angle headed right towards my neighborhood from the north east direction. Then it suddenly stopped going down and headed horizontal, level flight for about 2 seconds and it started the angled flight again, headed towards the ground for 1 or 2 seconds and then it stopped, then the orange tube disappeared and the star became a black circle surrounded by 8 flashing white lights, the black cirlcle was much darker black than the night sky and the lights were bright and I could see it in perfect focus, i watched it for at least 2 minutes as it slowly slowly moved across the night sky headed southwest just 100 feet or so above the ground, as it flew over my house I thought of my camera and ran inside and came out and was so excited that I could not get my camera on video record, I thought I was recording but I pushed the wrong button, it traveled past my house, so i ran into the front yard and watched it go out of sight to the southwest.
two weeks later my friend said her friend got a picture of it and it is exactly what I saw.
I am amazed

What do you think was observed over Texas in late November? Was it a mistaken meteor? There was a "fireball" in Texas reported the same night to AMSMeteors.org, but that event occurred fairly far away in North Texas. Perhaps they were both late arrivals of the November Orionids meteor shower.

Or maybe aliens are visiting...

Let me know what you think, as always, in the comments below, or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram! And if you also saw this UFO, help crack this case and report your sighting.

  • When: February 19th, 2019 at 7 PM
  • Where: McAllen
  • What: Long blue streak

A really amazing sighting of a long, bright blue streak over McAllen, Texas, which appeared as quickly as it disappeared, has been submitted to MUFON (case 98661). Although the witness didn't take a photo of the event, they did create a digital drawing of it, which they shared along with their testimony:

Long blue light streak

It was dark, cloudy and misty around 7pm. I was at the HEB parking lot walking back to my vehicle after placing a shopping cart back into the stall and I saw a long blue streak fly across the clouds so fast, it was gone within a second. I was facing south towards HEB and the blue light streak was only visible for 1 second which spanned a quarter mile across the sky going west to east.
Is it possible that this witness saw a meteor? If so, it would be one of two large meteors seen in Texas this month. Meteors were also seen in Venezuela and Cuba this month!

Or could this witness have seen something else, like a spaceship zipping through the sky, or crashing?

Loud, Mystery Booms Heard in San Antonio - Did You Hear Them, Too?

6/24/2018

  • When: June 23rd, 2018 at 9:49 PM
  • Where: San Antonio
  • What: Loud booms heard

A San Antonio resident was surprised one evening by the sound of "loud booms" that could not be attributed to a thunderstorm, according to a recent email sent to TexasUFOs:
FYI- Sat, June 23, 2018, 9:49pm hundred/s of loud booms. We thought it was thunder. We went outside to hear the "thunder". We checked the forecast but there were no storms in the area. Boom every 2 seconds. Very low, broad booms. We live near Babcock & Wurzbach. We have no idea the source of the booms.
I checked on Google for boom noises in SA & found your website.

In addition to mysterious lights in the sky, mysterious sounds "in the sky" are another interesting phenomenon that TexasUFOs has covered many times. Could this San Antonio resident have heard a sonic boom originating from an aircraft, perhaps even a top-secret military craft, or is something far stranger going on here, and could this be related to other strange sounds heard around the world?

Around the same time, similarly strange "loud booms" were reported by a local in North Carolina.

Other than that, in recent weeks, bright fireballs were seen over Belgium and Russia, and small, possibly artificial seismic activity was reported in Mexico City. However, these places are  a good ways from San Antonio, Texas, leaving us to wonder what could have caused these loud booms.

The only way to solve this mystery is to hear from you! Do you also live in San Antonio? Did you also hear these mystery booms? Report it!
