"couldn't Believe What WE Were Seeing" - STrange Craft Flying Around in Temple

• When: December 17th, 2013
• Where: Along Loop 363 between Temple and Belton
• What: Multi-colored circular craft, hovering and disappearing in mid air

A couple driving home from a trip to the grocery store noticed an odd looking craft flying overhead - it had multiple colored lights and possibly a circular shape to it. The witnesses are used to seeing helicopters and planes as they live near Fort Hood, and were certain this was not either of those. However, it glided along as an air craft might do, except it would occasionally stop and hover. It also seemed to disappear and reappear at random. A similar craft may have been photographed in the Plano area about a week later.

My husband and I were leaving HEB grocery in Temple driving along Loop 363 on our way home. We were driving by Wildflower Country Club when we notice something Large with red, green, yellow and blue lights blinking in the sky over the loop. We were trying to figure what in the world it could be, as it was like nothing either one of us had ever seen. The craft seemed to just be following over the traffic and I opened our sunroof to try to get a better look as we drove directly beneath it. It was low enough to be noticed if you were looking, but high enough to make it difficult to see much other than the bright multi colored lights.
It seemed to be circular in shape, but the lights made it difficult to ascertain what it looked like exactly and it was just getting really dark at that time of the evening. The lights were really very pretty and moving in patterns. This was NOT an airplane or helicopter. We live at the lake across from FT. Hood army base and we see all sorts of aircraft daily on all types of maneuvers, day & nite.
We were at our exit to get onto Adams Ave to head toward the lake and were going to turn back to see if we could get a better look, but the craft zipped toward the same direction we had intended. We watched in amazement as it seemed to hover over certain areas and then just move on along. It was very high, but very visible if you were aware of it. We watched it move VERY fast and move over a great deal of land in a matter of seconds. At times we thought it was moving away, but then it & would be right back besides us ( way up high) & would seem to follow a path as if it was headed toward the lake area as we were too!
As had just about reached the Temple Lake Park entrance when the craft seemed to just disappear several times as if it was moving behind a cloud coverage, but there really wasn't any clouds other than a few gauzy type that even the stars out were shining thru them. We pulled our car over and watched as the strange craft hovered for a few last seconds and then it shot out of sight at a speed I cannot convey thru words. It was there and then it was gone.
My husband & I laughed because we just couldn't believe what we were seeing and were and still are perplexed as to what we did see! It was big, it was full of lights and it could cover a lot of distance fast. We were so excited and told our college age daughters when we gat home, but we aren't telling other people...they'll think we're loopy! It was cool.
