British MOD Releases Top-Secret UFO File, Still Hiding Others

The British Ministry of Defence just released a top-secret UFO file that details the harrowing  1982  encounter between a Cold War spy plane and  a large UFO, described as a "multitude of flashing lights, 20 at a time," over the Eastern Mediterranean. The event lasted for an hour and a half before the unidentified object (or craft) left the scene.

The sighting was apparently investigated, but the files showing the results of that investigation, as well as other details related to the frightening encounter, are missing.

While the United Kingdom has declassified many UFO reports over the years, many files still remain elusive.  In fact, during the same week of this story, the MoD also made headlines for blocking a Freedom of Information Act Request for additional UFO files.

Many countries around the world, including the United States, have released their top-secret "X files" related to unidentified flying objects and other unexplained sightings and events. However, it appears there are still many more hidden.
