Large Dome-shaped UFO with "Appendages" Seen in England

An astonishing UFO sighting has taken place in England, and while no photographs were taken, the witness claims that something similar was seen and photographed in 2009 in Costa Rica, and included a news story about it in their MUFON report (case 87698).

Large, white, domed "corkscrew" with appendages at the base, moving swiftly and silently through the sky

My wife and I were walking along a lane in our village in Gloucestershire, UK, when we happened to notice, up in front of us, an object resembling a large, white, domed corkscrew with appendages at the base, moving swiftly and silently through the sky, from right to left, against the wind for a few seconds before it disappeared from view behind a small hill nearby. A moment later we heard a loud boom and local residents later reported that they had lost electricity for a minute or so at around that time. We thought initially that the object was a remote-control craft such as a drone but we realized later that drones are audible and this object was not only silent but also too large and moving too smoothly to be a drone.
