Top 5 Famous and Real Alien Abductions

8/11/2016

To most Americans, aliens are the stuff of sci-fi books and film. But to others, they  are the stuff of nightmares. If we are to learn anything from the very real and very frightening close encounters listed below, it's to "stay away from the light." Do not approach that UFO off in the distance. Don't do it!

Here are the top 5 most famous alien abduction cases of all time:

1. Betty and Barney Hill

The Betty and Barney Hill abduction is easily the most famous of all abduction cases. Late at night on September 19th, 1961, a couple traveling on vacation encountered a mysterious light or UFO in the distance. After stopping to get a better view, they witnessed through binoculars several humanoid figures inside a flying saucer-like craft. Eventually, the UFO approached them, and they heard "buzzing" noises that left them in a state of altered consciousnesses. They quickly lost track of time, awaking later with a memory of encountering the UFO roadblock, but not much else. It was only until the couple later went into regressive hypnosis, that they recalled  the events of their abduction, which involved medical exams, mental telepathy, and conversations with the extraterrestrials about their home planet, located in the star system of Zeta Reticuli.

2. Travis Walton

The Travis Walton alien abduction case is just as famous as it is credible. Walton was cutting down trees with fellow loggers in an Arizona forest in November 1975 when all witnessed a bright disc approaching. Walton left the group for a better look, and that's when a blue beam of light coming from the craft knocked him over.  The logging crew left the scene in a fright. They went back to pick up Walton shortly after, but by then it was too late - he was missing! For several days, there was an intensive manhunt that was covered by the media. Walton did finally return, and he remembered being studied on a medical examination table by several "horrible" creatures. He also remembered meeting other extraterrestrials, and could recall details of the interior of a spaceship. Unlike other alien abductees, he did not need to undergo hypnosis to recall this information.

3. Antonio Vilas Boas

Antonio Vilas Boas was the very first documented alien abduction case, occurring years before the Betty and Barney Hill Case, in October 1957. 23-year-old Brazilian farmer Antonio Boas noticed a red star-like object in the sky brightening and then fast approaching. Humanoids then abducted him, and not only examined him medically, but made him have intercourse with an attractive female, in order to impregnate her. Although many accused Boas of making up the story, it's interesting to note its similarities to subsequent reports, which are not believed to be hoaxes.

4. The Allagash Waterway Incident

A year after the Travis Walton incident, two twin brothers and some friends were abducted by aliens while night fishing along the Allagash River. The friends had nightmares after the event, which caused them to try to recall what happened after the UFO sighting - they were eventually able to piece together what happened due to having so many witness accounts to compare. In this abduction, the aliens had large metallic eyes with no lids.

5. Pascagoula, Mississippi

This famous alien abduction story (1973) actually began to unfold after a mass UFO sighting. A large silver flying object was spotted in New Orleans by many, not long before two coworkers fishing in a Pascagoula, Mississippi lake were purportedly abducted by some very scary creatures, which had claw-like hands, and no eyes.
