We've got some pretty clear, impressive footage of a super bright white circular object (or orb) slowly traveling through the sky. However, while it definitely appears the orb is moving (the trees are a great reference), it's hard to pin down how fast or where it's really going, as the videographer appears to be moving as well. This is certainly no balloon or road flare or meteor. However, it could be a plane or helicopter, although the lighting and the pace seem a little odd for that. Ideas? Did you see something similar on the night of March 16th in Arlington? Let me know!nMeanwhile, here's the video:

A passenger aboard a plane landing at the Port Aransas Airport decided to snap a shot of the view. When they went back to review their photos, they realized they'd captured a very large, grey, disc-like object in the sky, with a few orbs hovering around it. For some reason, this story has taken the UFO community by storm. And honestly, I'm a little perplexed as to why. Although this an interesting anomaly, one that UFO-Blogger.com is linking to another similar pilot sighting that famous ufologist Stanton Friedman covered, since no one saw this thing in motion, it can be easily debunked - latest theories include clouds and the propeller tip. The only reason I can gather that this Texas UFO sighting has received more attention than other, more compelling ones is that this story was covered by local news. I actually am not as amazed by the large gray object as I am the orbs that appear around it, though they could very well be birds or lens flares or smudges on the airplane window: Here's a video showing different zoom levels: And a few quotes from the story: Miles, 41, of San Antonio, said he recently flew to Port Aransas to spend the day walking the beach.
Austin's been teeming with UFO sightings lately. And we've got another one to add to the books. Below are quotes from a YouTube video that captures a very clear blue orb in the night sky, blinking and hovering. \ This could be a helicopter. It's certainly not a plane, though. Look at this Amber, look! Look at this thing. And the video: Ideas, guys?
Here's somewhat of an oldie, but a goodie. I try to keep sightings on the site as fresh as possible, but with the hail storm that hit last night, I thought this one was worth posting. Someone traveling through West Texas during a hail storm, shortly after the meteor impact in Russia, witnessed numerous balls of light in the sky - similar to shooting stars - but they kept disappearing and then reappearing again, as if they were burning up constantly. Could this be a product of the hail storm - most obviously, hail? We got a hail storm last night, and those little balls of ice can look pretty weird at a distance. Then again, people have been seeing all kinds of "shooting stars" that aren't quite shooting stars - most recently in Buffalo. It's a noticeable trend that I can't quite pin down. From the forum GodLikeProductions.com, by user name Son of PC: A couple of weeks ago, just after the Russian meteor, I was traveling in west Texas near the New Mexico border.
On a road trip, a couple spotted a very obvious light in the unpolluted Texan sky. Thinking it was a shooting star, they continued to observe it, however it then disappeared and almost seemed to explode. But unlike a shooting star or meteor, it didn't fade, but seemed to fly up into space. Was this a meteor that was given a boost to the sky after fragmenting, or something far stranger? Read the full MUFON report: We were driving back from Galveston to Dallas. My fiance pointed out the light thinking it was a satellite or maybe a space station except we noticed a trail left behind. We watched as it went across the sky, stopped for a split second and then just vanished in a small flash of light but the light did't fade like a normal shooting start or meteorite would, it flashed and there was a small trail that went up, as if it stopped then shot up higher into space. It disappeared in plain view maybe 35 degrees above the horizon, no buildings or trees disrupted our view and we had a good view of other stars etc for reference (its out in the middle of nowhere and no surrounding light pollution) |
