Story updated April 24th with enhanced photo and additional commentary from witness! A photographer accidentally photographed a UFO at Lincoln Park in Brownsville, TX. On April 22nd, @DanielsDisaster tweeted "I caught a ufo in a photo..I'm tripping out....its so creepy." He elaborated on the sighting, which at first glance, could easily be shrugged off as a plane: Closer inspection it looks like it has a vertical stabilizer but oesnt look the shape of a plane. There's no airforce base near where I live and non commercial planes or military aircraft are not allowed to cross the border from what I hear. I spoke to other people that were there and while i was taking the photographs of which there are more, but no ufo.. there was no plane, helicopters, or sounds of any in the area. I could swear that when I took the photo I didnt notice anything in the background. It appears to be moving fast. I live right on the border and the direction this object is flying it is crossing into Mexico. This image was located at Lincoln Park in Brownsville, Texas and you may google map it to see exactly how close to the border I am. It is not high enough for it to be a commercial plane flying into Mexico that we are used to seeing. Here's a larger photo with all the kite-flying context:

There has been some recent UFO activity over Garland, TX, though I haven't blogged about it here (ambiguous reports, tops) - and here's one of the latest sightings. Credit to the-v-factor-paranormal.blogspot.com for netting it! Although this UFO witness was star gazing during the Lyrid Meteor Shower, this doesn't sound like a shooting star to me. On 4/21/12, I was lying on a blanket outside in Garland, TX, looking for the Lyrids meteor shower when out of the corner of my eye, I saw a faint movement and thought it looked like a faint light from far away from one of those big beams that advertise some event. This "beam" came into view overhead and I thought it might be a flock of birds or a cloud. It was a cloudless night. I realized I was seeing a wedge-shaped craft that was almost transparent and very dimly lit, maybe from distant city lights. It was very low, maybe 800 feet and about the size of a small plane and absolutely silent. I lost sight of it as it passed directly overhead and past some trees.
Recently, we reported on a Hawley, TX sighting of a potential meteor on April 16th. Well, now we've got a similar sighting in nearby Clyde on April 20th. Is this resulting in the Lyrid Meteor Shower? UFO description by "Kenneth Wilson," from elpasoallsky.blogspot.com: kenneth wilson Clyde, TX. USA 5:53 central time from my view it was about 2 seconds but could be longer as i lost sight of it behind the trees in my yard i was facing north path of travle was W-S-W to E-N-E at about 20 degrees down. It was out of the clouds when i first saw it then came thru the clouds and disappeared behind the trees in my yard. It was yellow to white in color and i saw it from my angle for about 2 seconds. If Hawley or OKC had there cameras runing they should both have seen it as it was in the area just above the Hawley camera from my prospective. NO sound brighter then venus but not as bright as the full moon. not that i could see none
On April 21st, a New Braunfels resident reported a very cool UFO event into MUFON. The bright, multi-colored UFO was witnessed through binoculars for 30-ish minutes in New Braunfels. Check out the report: Witnessed very bright multi-colored object in distance, in southwesterly direction approximately over San Antonio when viewing from New Braunfels. My wife pointed it out to me, so I got my binoculars and watched for approximately 30 mins. Bright lights that simultaneously displayed what seemed like red, white and blue colors. Not flashing, not alternately in sequence, but glittery-like. Very vivid colors. Definitely not a star, but star-like. At one point it had seemed to dim for a short period, then brightened. It hovered then moved slightly in relation to a tree limb I was orienting by. Seemed to be moving away, but to far away to tell. Eventually the tree blocked my view entirely. The next night my son told me the object was back. It was approximately the same time of the night. When I checked, it was appearing approximately at the same distance and elevation, but was now at more of a southerly direction, less to the west. It was not moving, so I went inside and came back out a few times to check. After about half an hour it was gone
Dallas, Texan @BlackIrishRose tweeted about an April 19th sighting of a T-shaped craft with red and white lights floating around in the sky. Doesn't sound like a Lyrid Meteor Shower shooting star, or a satellite. A triangle-shaped craft was sighted near Dallas in Van Alstyne the same night. |
