A family witnessed a UFO flying low over Burnet, Texas. However, while the UFO looked like an orange fireball to the naked eye, when viewed through binoculars, a "bluish" saucer-shaped craft with lights could be seen. Read the report submitted to NUFORC: A fireball to the eye but through binoculars it was a saucer with lights around the bottom.
Can you explain this UFO sighting? Have you seen a UFO in Texas recently?

An amazing event happened over Lake Buchanan a few weeks ago, and although there's no photo or video evidence to go with it, we do have a very detailed witness testimony courtesy of MUFON to pour through - apparently a very large silver cigar-shaped object was chased or escorted or accompanied by five jets, much smaller in comparison: Driving NorthWest on FM 2341 I observed large con trail.(Wider and thicker than normal) Pulled off road to look at with 35mm binoculars. (30*46'42.70"N x 98*17'26.36"W ) Was expecting a large B-52 Multi-engine jet. Saw a long silver object flying in front of four to five smaller jets. Larger object was at least twice the size of the smaller jets. Larger object appeared to be maneuvering, causing flashes of sunlight off its surface. Relatively straight flight pattern but appeared to be toying with chase planes. Large Silver shiny object did not appear to have wings! (expected tanker to have large wings) Altitude was too great for good clear identification. Smaller jets appeared to be F-16s on afterburners. (Single burners) Strangely, The chase planes were flying in a really tight formation for a chase? They were hard to identify as they were apparently in close formation with a lot of acrobatic maneuvering going on during this time. Con trails on two of the smaller jets actually formed a corkscrew con trail. First impression was that they were jockeying for better view of the larger silvery object. They did not appear to be able to catch up with the larger object. The larger object appeared to be lunging forward at times as if it slowed down to let the chase planes catch up. All observation was through a 35mm lens and was extremely fuzzy due to extreme altitude. All objects were headed south to the Gulf of Mexico. Only Military bases in that direction would be the electronic test range near Big Bend,Texas. Also Navy bases at Corpus Christi, and Kingsville. I do not think it was a refueling operation as smaller jets appeared to be on afterburners! Activity was too close for refueling. I do not know WHAT I saw! Was upset that I did not have better optics! Lost the flight as it crossed the Sun to my South-Southwest. Objects passed nearly directly overhead. About five to ten minutes later I saw another con trail headed in the same direction. However, it turned out to be a Southwest Airlines Jet (737) that was only about two thirds the altitude and less than half the speed. This report is not sufficient to stand alone, however, it might help if others reported this. Strange times we live in! Can you add to this story? Did you also see this event? Report your sighting!
Someone in Burnet, TX went outside with their dachshund to let it do its business. Both the dog and its owner got way more than they bargained for, though: a UFO sighting. A ball of light appeared out of nowhere about 15 feet in front of the pair, and it was very low to the ground. The dachshund started barking at it, but would not go after it. Then when the UFO suddenly vanished, the dog kept barking and seemed to follow a path up into the sky! Conclusion? "Some sort of natural phenomena that we don't know about yet," says the witness, who was - understandably - quite riled up by the event. Here's the full MUFON report: Watching TV. Decided to go to sleep. Took my dog, Cleo (dachshund) out to do her thing. I was standing under my porch. Pretty dark. No outside house lights on. We live out in the country. After standing there for about ten seconds, I noticed a brilliant white light just pop out of nowhere. Only about 15 feet away. It appeared to be just off the ground. It was right next to the front right tire of one of our cars. And only about 1 to 2 feet in size. Very hard to describe. Mostly white with some greyish tints to it. Appeared to have structure inside and some movement. Outer shape did not look like any particular shape. If I had to say, it was mostly round but jagged-edged. I observed it for a good 10 to 15 seconds. I froze! My dog (Cleo) apparently saw it too cause she went crazy barking at it! However, she would not approach it. I reached back to open the front door to call my wife to come quick. I wanted her to see this. She was half asleep and didn't respond quick enough. I never took my eyes off of it and I saw the light suddenly vanish. Or at least to my eyes it did! Cleo continued to bark in the general direction of where it was. I saw her move towards it and noticed her head was following something straight up! She was definitely still seeing something. I kept looking up but I could not see anything. I had to calm her down. My wife made it outside only to find me gazing up. I've worked in the machine vision industry for most of my career. Mostly in R&D. We deal with lighting design utilizing the entire spectrum including UV and infra-red lights. I am also an accomplished photographer. I'd like to think I know a little bit about light! But after last night, maybe not! I've never seen anything like this. It was a very pleasing light. In fact, I'd say even beautiful! But I must admit I have no idea what it was. If I had to guess, I saw some sort of natural phenomena that we don't know about yet. We went inside, my dog Cleo was the first one in! It was obvious she was startled. Didn't sleep much last night just thinking about it. |
