6/10 Update: Story updated to say "Houston." Accidentally placed this in San Antonio! A Texas UFO Sightings reader witnessed a large (and seemingly intimidating!) craft with bright lights moving silently overhead and eventually turning out of sight. They graciously shared their testimony with the site: I couldn't sleep so I walked outside to smoke and I knew it was late and there weren't any planes landing or taking off when something bright caught my eye. I looked to my left and I saw what was a large rectangular object with bright white, yellow and possibly orange lights.. But the strange thing was I could not hear anything like you would a plane. .It seemed that it was going to come straight over head about tree top level but it turned slightly towards Hobby airport and disappear behind some trees. Wow! What could this have been? Any ideas? Share your theories in the comments or on the Facebook page.
And if you saw this - or anything else strange in the San Antonio sky recently - report your sighting.

My family and i were at my sisters wedding Saturday night, the 29th. After the ceremony, around 8:30 pm, myself, my girlfriend, my neither and his girlfriend were sitting by the water facing south toward Galveston, tx. I noticed what at first appeared to be a star swaying back and forth. Over and over. After a while, it would sit still, then continue to move side to side in the sky. Since we were at a wedding, i unfortunately didn't have the time to watch it for more than 5-10 minutes, but wanted to report what we witnessed. Thanks. Could this have been a satellite or star that only appeared to move back and forth, or a true blue UFO? Share your ideas in the comments. And if you saw a strange star in the Houston area recently, report your sighting.
A family witnessed a star-like object in the night sky, darting from left to right and moving in circles. Then the UFO flashed and disappeared - followed by a loud, thunderous noise. A blurry cell phone picture was captured, and you can also read the full description, submitted to MUFON: December 08, 2013 Pearland, Texas at 9:27 pm My son was taking out the recycling when he came running inside yelling to me and telling me that there was a weird object moving in the sky in circles from left to right. I went outside and noticed the strange movements and the change of colors. I called my husband and we could not believe this was happening to us. It sure was something that we had not seen before. It kept moving for about a minute. The object was moving too fast and irregularly to be an airplane or a helicopter, and also the color pattern was not something we had ever seen. My husband went inside to grab his camera, and as he was coming out, it moved quickly, flashed, then disappeared. After 2 seconds, there was a loud thunder-like noise, yet there was no rain or thunder before of after this happened. No good pictures were able to be taken, just one cellphone picture, which just looks like a small bright dot in the dark. I'll still attach the picture anyways. There were no visible stars on this night. This was really strange. What could this have been? I have heard of weather balloons, but I don't think this was one. Has anybody seen something like this before? Did you see this Pearland UFO? Report your sighting!
The last three months, many star gazers have noticed a bright star in the sky - possibly Venus, they think. But then... it moves. One of these sightings occurred in Houston and was documented by at least three Texans. They reported seeing a strange star-like (key word: like) object hovering and then moving over Houston, and even changing colors. Read the first MUFON report: Started watching TV outside when I noticed a large light in the distance. It was too large to be a planet or star. I watched it for 5 minutes and noticed it wasn't moving. My son and I studied it closely with binoculars and telescope. It was hovering and throwing off red, orange, and blue lights. It quickly moved west ward and stopped to hover about 5 minutes. Then it moved from downtown Houston out towards Katy in about 2 seconds. It stayed hovering for 30 minutes . It disappeared several times then reappeared about 5 or 6 times. Then it quickly took off going west. And a comment from another witness: I saw this same thing over pearland at 3:00am while I was on break. My co workers did too.it was a bright ball of light.it didnt seem to move at all but it would disapear for a minute an then re appear and around 3:25 it disapear ed an I never saw it again.when I first saw it it I thought its probably just a plane but then I thought how odd it was that I didnt see it come from any direction.that it just appear from nowhere and also that it didnt seem to be moving in any direction.also it started as a greenish blue color when I first noticed it..then it disapeared after being visable for about a minute.an when it appeared again it was an orangish color an was changing from orange to red an was in the same spot but appeared slightly bigger..my older co worker said it was a light post..but it was way to high to be so.and when morning xame I checked the same spot in the sky an there were no lights or posts or buildings tall enough to be where that light was..what was that light? Now, read the second MUFON report from a witness attending an outdoor concert... sound familiar? At an outdoor concert in Houston by the medical center with EMS helicopters flying continuously and in the flight path to Hobby Airport and a large orange/red circle appears in the sky over downtown. The object is larger than the aircraft that are closer to us and much larger than any star. The orange/red color was unlike any of the aircraft. The object hovers and then gets smaller really fast like it is moving away from us at a high rate of speed. This object or another object all of a sudden appears in a different spot then disappears in the same way. This happens 1 more time as we were watching but this time it moves down and then up before disappears in the same way. Did you see this UFO? Report your sighting.
A Houston area couple were taken aback by a super strange sight outside their home - a giant orange rectangle hovering silently in the sky, and eventually fading to black. The witnesses tried to find an explanation for the sight, and even drove toward it, but they have so far come up empty. Did you see this odd floating object? If so, report your sighting! In the meantime, here's the full witness report, kindly submitted to TUS by a reader: About 10pm Sunday evening September 8th my husband walked outside looked up into the sky and I heard him say "Am I seeing things?" I went outside as well and looked up and saw a perfect orange rectangle in the South sky. It was positioned as a door would be with the two long sides vertical and two shorter sides horizontal. It looked to be pretty high up in the sky and very large. The orange color was bright and would flicker slightly like a fire would. My husband and myself walked down the street Southward toward an empty field across from our property and as far as we could see directly above the tree line was this bright orange glow and ran the length of the treeline which had to be at least a mile or two long. We saw no smoke, smelled no smoke, nor did we hear fire trucks. It stayed in the sky in the same place for about 20-30 minutes before fading until all we saw was one vertical black line. I have looked online trying to find a reasonable explanation for this, was it a fire, explosion, something, anything but have come up with nothing. We also drove into the direction of where we saw this bright orange glow that appeared to be fire and have come up short there as well. Someone else had to have seen this as well but have found nothing there either. I tried to take a picture of it but it was too dark for it to come out. If anyone has an explanation for this anomaly please reply. |
