League City, Thanksgiving 2013
UFOs wanted to spend Thanksgiving in Texas. We can't blame them, we cook a mean turkey. All over Texas, people watched strange orange balls of light glide over their heads.
Another recent phenomena has been triangle crafts and orbs that create triangles
, most famously in Austin
, and many of these sightings have had a lot in common with that "fad," too. Each testimony had unique qualities, but there was definitely was something going on in the Texas sky last week, and many were lucky enough to see it. Well, the reports keep rolling in. And the latest is quite a doozy. A MUFON report
filed in League City includes spectacular footage of a triangle craft
with three blinking orange lights, moving about in the sky. Oddly enough, two other orange orbs appear alongside it and drift around. Watch a video that was captured, and read quotes from the witnesses:
What is this, brother?
It looks like ships with lanterns on them?
What the f****?
Can the government explain this?
Look there's another one, another two!
What the hell is that? What is that?
They're in tandem, right?
They must be landing...
They're just lights in the sky - there's not a sound to them!
I don't know about alien space ships, but those are definitely not Chinese lanterns. Don't even try to go there, skeptics. That's a triangle!
Here's a similar sighting in Robstown, kindly submitted to TUS by reader Mario Arredondo:
my wife was outside smoking about 8:00 pm.after about a minute of her going out to smoke she runs inside saying theirs some strange orange lights outside.the apts we live in face south so when i ran out side their was 4 orange lights in the sky tawords corpus Christi area .after those disappeared 5 more came up and aventually disappeared.they were orange lights i had never seen anything like them before.i thought we were the only ones to have seen them.i even posted it up on facebook and no one had seen anything.so when i came on here and saw the pictures i showed my wife and those were the exact lights we saw.
And here's another generous submission from a resident in Lometa, TX:
My 13 year old daughter and I were walking from our deer stand at approx 6 pm when we saw 3 hovering bright white lights in the southern sky. I did not appear to be very far away. The 3 lights were all close together and side by side until it appeared to turn to the east. At that point the 3 lights were in a triangle shape. There was absolutely no sound coming from this object and it was a VERY clear and quiet night. This is the 3rd time I have seen these lights and my first time to report it. I am a director of a criminal justice agency so I am a credible witness to this sighting. I'm not guessing what it was but I can say it was not an airplane or helicopter. No sound!
I was in my nephews back yard on thanksgiving night. I was starting to walk under the gazebo when I noticed something flying overhead and thought to myself that it did not look like plane lights so I went to the other side of the gazebo to take another look. What I saw was a pulsating white light with green blue and red streams of light pulsating from the object. I called my nephew over to look and he thought the same way as I did we could not figure out what it was. Then it seemed like seconds later two or thee more appear out of the southeast moving to the northwest. Then at least 10 more appeared all looked exactly the same. We counted 15 in all and watched them for what seemed like a while but probably was less than it seemed. My nephew video taped the whole thing on his phone.
Did you see the Thanksgiving lights? Report a UFO!
Know what Texans saw? Please comment!
A pretty amazing encounter was kindly sent to TUS by a reader who would like to remain anonymous. As unbelievable as their experience was, the description doesn't feel even remotely hoax-y. While the witness was driving, they noticed a bright diamond-shaped object hovering over... "7 little people."
- When: December 4th, 2013
- Where: Wolfe City (north of Plano)
- What: Soft diamond-shaped light hovering over 7 small people
I was about 5 miles north of Wolfe City on FM 68. I was driving over a bridge and saw a large light to my left. I knew something was wrong because there is nothing there but the river and farmland. I was going too fast to recognize what it was but I slowed down and backed up to see it. It was above the ground but very low & in the shape of a diamond. A soft bright light was along the edge and underneath. It illuminated the ground below. It was very bright but soft at the same time. There were 7 like little people walking around on the ground underneath it. That's all I can say here.
Recent UFO sightings in Cotulla, TX - specifically over oil fields (common pattern of UFOs!) - made headlines.
- When: October 25th and 31st, 2013
- Where: Tilden (south of Houston, near Three Rivers and by the Eagle Ford Shale oil fields)
- What: Multiple objects caught on deer cam
A couple in Texas who lives about 35 miles from the site are now big believers that something strange for sure went down in Cotulla. Why? Their deer cam caught all kinds of strange objects flying through the air. Here are some of the photos and a description of what they might contain, all submitted to MUFON, photos listed from most recent to oldest:
3:34 PM on October 31st:
Earlier that day, nothing:
8:24 PM, October 26th:
10:27 PM, October 25th:
Our sightings were captured in night camera photographing deer feeders. My husband was unbelieving of the Cotulla, Tx. sightings until he saw the objects in the sky in the night camera over our ranch, approx 35 miles from Cotulla. Photos spanned from Oct. 25 to Nov 1, 2013. Sighted at least 5 different shapes, all at night with lights glowing. There are 2 daytime sightings, one being a disc, the other being a muffin shaped. These were all in the sky and not lights from a land vehicle. We are located in the Eagle Ford Shale oilfields.
Web cams can be misleading, so honestly these objects could really be anything. But they could also be Something, especially with all the legitimate UFO sightings that seem to have popped up in this neck of Texas recently. Did you see these objects in real time? Report it!
Hey guys, still catching up with post-holiday day to day life, so sorry for lack of updates! Stay tuned! Here's a refreshingly detailed account of a set of red and then white lights that showed up at a Texas ranch and were witnessed by many. One of the witnesses shared testimony and a drawing of what they saw, and although they've never seen anything like this - TUS sure has.The "main" UFO observed was a bright red light beacon that
- When: December 1st, 2013
- Where: Coryell (northwest of Temple)
- What: Bright red orb, moving in sky and blinking in strange pattern, followed by trail of more white and red lights
changed positions in the sky and had a very odd pattern of blinking:
I have attached a diagram of the sighting.
- 1 denotes the initial sighting above the treeline
- 2 denotes the eventual sighting at the treeline
- 3 denotes the light going out, then white and red lights trailing on the hill
In the early morning hours of December 1, 2013, about 12:30 AM, in Coryell County, Texas. Myself and others were at our ranch house, when my cousin and I walked outside to talk. I immediately noticed a bright red light above the hill to the North East about 700 yards from where we were standing. This is the hill country, we are standing in a low spot of pastures surrounded by hills close enough to walk to in all directions in 20 minutes (even to the hill where the light is at). It was very bright, bright enough to know that we had never seen it before in our lives at the ranch. It seemed to hover above the treeline on the hill for a few minutes, then seemed to be under the treeline in a clearing on the hill.
The light was extremely bright red. It seemed like a red beacon light, with the following pattern:
- Starting a blank black.
- Revolving left to right.
- Blank black.
- Revolving left to right.
- Blank black.
- Flashing to the right.
- Blank black.
- Flashing to the left.
It briefly stopped for a minute or so, then started back up again. Others came out of the house to witness, then after a few more minutes it stopped.
Afterwards, we saw white lights, then red lights trailing on top of the hill and then all were gone.
(These seemed like car headlights and car taillights, maybe this red light was just a warning distress beacon light or something. Maybe somebody else. Has anybody seen something like this on the market today? I have searched the internet, but haven't found any light that exhibits these properties yet.)
In the morning, we had a rare direct flyover by 6 military helicopters flying in formation over the hill to the South. Followed by another formation of 4 over the East hill from the night before. Could be a coincidence, as we are close to Fort Hood, but we have never seen this sort of activity over our ranch in all of our generations there.
Do you have any idea of what these strange lights were? Please comment! And as always, if saw these UFOs, report your sighting
An El Paso resident watched a trio of lights - one of them especially bright - slowly make its way over the neighborhood
- When: November 26th, 2013
- Where: El Paso
- What: Three slowly moving lights forming triangle
. Lucky us, they kindly submitted a photo and account to TUS:
A friend on Facebook in Decatur Tx posted about a very bright non-blinking light moving very slowly in the NNE skies. I am in El Paso and went to look and sure enough...after using the telephone cables behind my house as a reference point, the light was moving very slowly. Then I noticed two other dim lights following behind it but all 3 made an isosceles triangle. They were headed south but then turned west. This was a very SLOW hover over an hour. It was so cold and so late past midnight that I finally came inside after standing outside watching them from around 10 p.m. to about 1 a.m. I have about 30 rapid shot pictures and zoomed in on 19 and got something pretty interesting! If you want to see more, please feel free to email me. I'm not saying its a UFO, but I sure dont know what it is!
We've got photo and an eyewitness account of a strange bronze cigar-shaped object shooting down from the sky, kindly submitted to TUS by a reader. Check it out:
- When: November 30th, 2013
- Where: Arlington
- What: Cigar shaped object
Reddish looking oblong object appeared out of no where, flew very fast and downward at an angle. It was around sunset close to Lamar and Brown in North Arlington.
Did you see a group of orange lights fly in unison over your neighborhood? Report your sighting! I'd love to add to the pile... Over the Thanksgiving holiday, many Texans spotted a gang of UFOs - specifically, solid orange balls of light! - silently flying together through the sky, faster than nearby aircraft. One witness even saw jets following behind.
On occasion, people have seen single objects, vs a group. This is all off the heels of recent sightings of strange star-liked, and even fiery objects spinning in the sky
, which conspiracy theorists have linked to the consistently surprising Comet Ison
, and a phenomenon known as magentars
Check out the witness photos and testimony below!
The first was submitted by a Port Aransas reader who was lucky enough to snap a photo:
Bright orange orbs moving across
Sky -southeast to northwest- saw 7
Of them , about 1 minute apart .
Made no noise Witnessed by 3 of us.
Port Aransas, November 30th
Next up we have photo and testimony from a Corpus Christi witness, and another generous reader of TUS:
Galveston, November 29th
Bright orange light...like an orange spotlight with different levels of intinsity. First saw it flying South, in the Southwest sky, then it turned towards the East.....stopped and hovered approx 1 1/2 minutes...then dimmed over approx 3-4 seconds and disappeared. Never heard a noise. When it first stopped and just floated in the sky I called my wife outside and she witnessed the hovering...but she went in prior to it disappearing. Would estimate object was approx 2-3, maybe 4 miles away and 2-3 miles in the air. I took a picture with my phone that is poor quality.
Corpus Christi, November 30th
And who could forget about the photo I recently blogged about from Galveston on the 29th
, featuring a single orange orb flying through the sky? (Also graciously submitted to TUS by a reader.) A few days before that, in Katy, someone spotted another group of UFOs, and although they weren't fortunate enough to get a photo of the event, they did kindly submit a description of what they saw to TUS:
Solid Red/Orange lights, one after another moving from the horizon in the Northeast and gaining altitude while travelling west. There were 10-15 in all, but they were always staggered, and following the same path. They all would disappear about 45deg azimuth in the Northwest sky. Absolutely no blinking or typical colors for aircraft. Even with binoculars, there was only a solid orange/red light source. They were going faster than the regular air traffic in that area (and in the opposite direction from the IAH landing pattern tonight.) No sound whatsoever. Could not judge distance, as it was just a light, with no features, but I would guess anywhere from 20-50 miles north of me, so I am certain that others had to have seen the same thing.
It wasn't just TUS that got these reports! MUFON got a few, too. Here's one out of Webster from the 29th:
Bright reddish orange object traveling swiftly north-northeast in unison with two smaller white "lighted" object (no flickering or blinking) at 45 degree angle from each other (all three equally spaced) with absolutely no sounds at all.
I went outside to have a cigarette before bed, when I saw 5 or 6 very bright orange objects flying across the eastern sky, just below Jupiter and the Gemini constellation. They seemed almost fuzzy to look at, but very bright. 2 of the lights remained the same brightness, but the others would brighten then slowly dim out. They were following each other, for the most part, but the smaller ones seemed to stay close together, and they were the ones that dimmed out. I looked around in the sky and saw 3 jets behind these lights, at some distance, but headed in the same direction, towards the north. There were 2 more jets flying at high altitudes in opposite directions. The objects didnt appear to make any sound. After a few minutes had passed another bright orange light flew in the same direction and slowly faded away as the others, and I saw 2 more jets right after that - both headed north east.
What do you think these Texans witnessed? I'd say Chinese lanterns or flares, but the sightings occurred over several nights!
We've got an interesting photo of an orange and white fuzzy object speeding over Galveston. Check out the photo and the description of the sighting, kindly submitted to TUS by a reader:
- When: November 29th, 2013
- Where: Galveston
- What: Fiery ball of light speeding through night sky, makes turn
Looked like a ball with flame or red light emitting from the front of it. Travelled south from houston over galveston and then turned to the west. Travelled and about 100 mph.
- When: November 23rd and 26th, 2013
- Where: Denton, Luling, Port Neches, and Richardson
- What: Blue/green star-like object - but moves or disappears, similar to other recent Texas UFO sightings
Texans are seeing stars... almost
literally. Worldwide, reports have been coming in about strange star-like objects that, while especially bright, simply hover in mid air just like any star (or satellite) might do. However, then the star starts to move... or disappear altogether!
From fiery red objects
to dancing stars
, the pattern isn't the easiest to pin down. Compare photos from recent reports of such an object in the Lone Star State... is this Venus or something else entirely?
Denton, Nov 23
San Antonio, Nov 15
Richardson, Nov 26
Video still of red object: Austin, Nov 2
Video still of red object: San Antonio, Oct 20
And here are details on the latest of these sightings! Here's the full MUFON report from a November 23rd sighting of a vanishing star in Denton, corroborated by another witness ("Dee") who comments:
My boyfriend and I pulled into our driveway and got out of the car. My boyfriend noticed this very bright starlike object in the sky and asked me to look at it. We stood there and looked at it for 20 minutes and it did not move. We went inside and looked up what planets are visible tonight and found Venus to be prominent in the SW tonight. We showed our roommate the starlike objects and watched it for another 10 minutes and then went inside. I checked on the starlike thing every 10 minutes for 2 hours and then it simply was not there after a while.
And here's the fortunately detailed report of a bluish green orb, with a triangular halo, which disappeared along with a sonic boom, from November 26th... it was kindly submitted to TUS by Joseph Wiele:
Witness Photograph, Denton Nov 23
I set out to walk my dog at approx. 545 pm on 11-26-13 and I noticed a big light that appeared to be a bright start to the southwest. After about 20 min of walking I noticed the light was considerably brighter than anything in the sky and it hadn't moved? I watched it closer for about another 10 minutes and I noticed now planes (both commercial and smaller) and helo's were getting more and more prevalent in the general area. Still the object not moving, it seemed to be in a bright triangular shape.
Witness Photograph, Richardson Nov 26
Now the helos and planes were circling around it and at time 2-5 different aircraft in the air at a time. I took a small video and a couple pics but they did not come out well. I called a friend in Plano and he could see it too and took a couple pics.
I finished my walk at 730 pm and it was still in the same position. Air traffic was crazy but I am certain some of it was from the holiday. I took a shower and when I was in the bathroom I heard a jet fly over and than I heard a sonic boom. I went outside and the object was gone.
Received a call stating 2 ufo were in the sky, went outside, in the south/southeast heard swish/whir sound, dogs howling from serveal directions. There was a bright strobe like light flashing from the north/northwest moving south by southwest, appeared lower to the ground. After being outside awhile we walked heading west looking in the sky, the caller said they were still in sight. Just before coming in, on three occasions saw three greeish light shooting from high in the sky going south/southwest downward, they looked like a shooting star, fading the closer it came to the ground, speed was very fast. The ufo was high in the sky, south, the lights of it made a shape like an arrow with the tip pointing east, the shaped changed or moved. Got to cold went inside after 20 minutes or so, the shape was still in the sky. The noise (heard in the south/southeast)had stopped maybe 5 minutes are so of being outside, the bright flashing light in the north disapeared after ten minutes or so. Another person's account thought the ufo was like a group of glesting stars moving from east to west very slowly. All three of us observed the shooting orb type light and the ufo had moved in location.
Finally, a report out of Port Neches, also from November 26th, featuring a blue green light in motion... it was kindly submitted to TUS by a reader:
Green/blue light was swirling high in the sky, I was on the phone with my sister and told my husband to come look too, for about a min it was just there swirling then you can tell it slowed down and starred descending straight down, very straight and very slow. Never seen anything like it, and I lived on a navy base a long time.
We've got another report of a triangle UFO on our hands...While driving home, a family spotted a large, bright triangle craft in the sky, traveling at a great rate of speed. They submitted photo and testimony to MUFON:
- When: November 18th, 2013
- Where: Laredo
- What: Well liit triangle craft flying quickly through sky
I was with my parents and we were going home. My mom was the one who saw it first and told us so we reversed and it took off. Something weird definitely not a plane. Kind of scary. It was a triangle shaped dark black with losts of lights right on top of a football field with football field lights on. I was freaking out but somewhat excited because I had never seen anything like it before. It took off going north bound and left pretty fast.
