I've found loads of UFO reports all over the Houston area - from the Woodlands to League City - of some weird "orb" activity. Although the American Meteor Society doesn't have much on this, it is possible there was a meteor shower that caused this increase in sightings. What are some other theories - do you have any? Let us know! Recent Houston UFO recap: Feb 22: Feb 23:
And again, here's the only video we have of these supposed sightings. It's not great, but the commentary is interesting to listen to:

Another great UFO sighting tweet! Houston, Texan tweep @layth_gaston21 clued us in on a really great sighting, captured with a photo and a video (the latter has not been published on the Internet yet). Apparently, a blue UFO was caught zooming around in all directions of the sky. @Layth_gaston21 tweeted: Me and @jbcargill18 saw a ufo! Could this be part of a bigger Houston UFO flap or meteor shower?
In 2012, the the coastal town of League City saw quite a few UFO sightings, mysteries still unsolved. Well, we've got a new mystery on our hands. Some friends watched an extremely large orange ball of light hover over a lake, silently move around all over the sky, and fading in and out (as these types of orbs tend to do). The witness claims that they're used to seeing unique things in the sky, due to the Coast Guard being so close by, but that this was far stranger. Luckily, they reported the strange sight into MUFON. Was telling some friends goodbye, after an evening of boating. Noticed an unusual orange glowing ball hovering over Clear Lake. Watched this for about 3 minutes, making move changes, but no noise whatsoever. Approx. range was a mile and one half. After several direction changes it disappeared. About 30 minutes later, the same object appeared in the same area, but a little further East. We observed it for a couple of minutes. Then it disappeared, like before. This was 10 times bigger than any other aviation light, we have seen in the area. We are used to seeing Coast guard helicopter and various other airplanes at the same altitude. This was definitely strange and different. Houston has been no stranger to UFO sightings over the past few nights. A bunch of strange orbs, of many varieties, have been spotted in the area. Could these encounters be related?? Has there been a lot of meteor activity, any ideas guys?
A Houston, TX resident filled MUFON in on a weird star-like ojbect they saw in the sky - that strangely began to move. The description of the sighting is a little vague, as is the image captured of it - maybe you can make something of it? Let me know! Anyways, there have been a number of recent sightings in Houston area on February 22 and 23rd, so it's possible they're related. The full MUFON report: I was sitting on my patio when I saw a peculiar bright light resembling a star yet it was too low to be one. At first I thought it was a star but then I noticed it was moving at a steady pace. I felt a sense of urgency to take a picture of the object since this wasnt the first time Ive witness a strange sighting like this. However, Ive learned to always bring my camera and keep it powered on. I felt a sense of excitement after seeing the object. I lost sight of the object shortly as after taking the picture. What really surprised me is what I saw when I reviewed the photo. I didnt use the flash being that I didnt want to drown out the brightness of the object.
The MUFON report out of Spring is from February 22, and it describes a pulsating, blue orb darting back and forth in the sky and also hovering for a while. Another tweet out of Spring, TX confirms this sighting. The MUFON report out of the Woodlands is from the 23rd, and in it, someone walking their dog spotted some odd looking red lights in the sky headed toward them, only to disappear and make room for a black orb. More red lights showed up later, but of course disappeared again. The witness crossed paths with another neighbor who was also able to see the UFOs, too. Meanwhile, in nearby Cypress (possibly on the 23rd as well, the video was uploaded on the 24th), someone watched red lights move about the sky in a strange fashion, fading in and out. Local Houston news station ABC13.com uploaded the video (below). Unfortunately, you can barely make out the UFOs in the very dark nighttime video. Cypress, TX Video: Commentary from the video: oh my god, what IS this? Driving home eastbound on cypresswood dr. between TC Jester and Kuykendahl. Saw bright light in the sky, thought first it was a helicopter,it was pulsating blue oval shaped. It went straight then changed direction back and forth, up and down, it also hovered for a moment and then I lost sight behind the trees. It moved with different speeds. We were walking the dog, and noticed a strange red light floating toward us, followed by a second light. There was no sound. We are used to seeing airplanes but this was not the same path and was definitely not an airplane. It was much to low. Then, a black orb was observed crossing under the full moon. Just as quickly the red lights just disappeared into the night sky. We continued our walk home and suddenly two more lights appeared in the same path following each other in a straight line, they too disappeared. Fortunately, we ran into another dog walking neighbor and we pointed them out to him. He watched one as one disappeared. Our neighborhood loop is 4/10 of a mile. I was certain more were to follow but none came. They reminded us of a red lantern, but not aware of any celebrations in the area. |
