Texas UFO Sightings has received three reports detailing a group of star-like objects "dancing" in the sky and moving way too fast and high up in the sky to be birds or planes. These sightings did not occur at the same time and location, however, making them even more suspect. Alone, each report has a "Chinese lanterns" feel, but why were so many Chinese lanterns out and about over this several day period, and was the wind really that powerful on each occasion to give them the appearance of moving together? There are other reports Texas UFO Sightings, MUFON, and likely other UFO sites received that seem to detail similar events, and so the investigation continues. The first of these reports came from reader Michelle K of Center Point, here's her June 1st sighting: Stars moving across sky, comets that burn across sky horizontally, dancing stars, seems to b hanging round one brighter dancing star, I dk, but not my 1st siting I was with 2 other ppl The next report came from Austinite Greg G, who was hanging out at Barton Springs on the morning of June 2nd or 3rd: I was jogging around Town Lake at about 5 am to 5:30 and on an impulse, stopped and looked up as I crossed the pedestrian bridge near where Barton Springs empties in to the shallow feeder stream flowing into the to the Colorado river adjacent to the new apartments construction next to Barton Springs Road. I saw two bright white lights and while I watched, they appeared to be moving together at similar speeds and near each other in the sky, directly overhead. As I tried to figure out what they were, I saw a third object following behind at the same speed. They were obviously at a distance, and I could see no details or shape. No blinking lights, no color, no visible wings or tail, no sounds. Then as I watched them disappear behind some clouds, I saw more objects moving in the same general direction and speed, from northwest to southeast. I put up a finger to verify that they were indeed moving, and tracked them from right side of finger to left side and then disappear. Definitely not stars! As I looked to the west, I saw more objects, in the end a total of about 30 or more moving white objects fly overhead in a matter of 2 or 3 minutes. The most I counted in my field of view at one time was 9. They were spaced apart but not in any specific pattern, but all flew at about the same speed, and in the same general direction. They were white lights the size of a medium bright star (but not as bright as Venus) moving rather quickly, and took about 15 seconds to pass from right to left in my field of view.Unfortunately it was partly cloudy and I did not see all of them at once, but rather a stream of them pass by. I was surprised by how many objects I was seeing in the sky flying together, and how close they were to each other. Some seemed closer than others to my position, as the light from some was brighter, and others fainter. Two or three joggers ran past me but did not stop or look up. A guy with a guitar (non jogger) finally stopped and we commented on what we saw. These were definitely flying objects at a distance and not stars, as after they had all passed, the normal night stars were visible and stationary, and did not at all resemble what I had seen. I run this route very often, and am used to seeing a very bright Venus and the constellation of Orion, but this was something very different. I could not understand under what circumstances would 30+ objects be flying over the city at high speeds in that sort of a grouping with no blinking lights and no sound. Finally, reader Liz C also was kind enough to share her June 4th sighting in Buda: Five to six dancing darting hovering objects they seemed to be almost bird like when just over heads like they had flapping motion to thme but they were moving far to fast and to high to be any type of bird. They had a glow to them with some yellow coloration. They looked like they were playing almost. Went on for a half hour or more. Two others witnessed them. We kept seeing an almost flapping apperence to them and kept thinking maybe they were birds, but they were moving at to fast a rate of speed and to high an altitude when at theur highest . Also I do not know of birds that fly at night. I tried to take photo but only had table and phone camera and wqs unable to achieve anything. The night of June 2nd was also a big night for UFOs in San Antonio. Only one of these sightings happened on the weekend - could there have been a bunch of celebrations going on in Central Texas the first week of June? Kicking off summer? Or did these witnesses see a "flock" of UFOs that were making their way through Central Texas? If you saw this as well, please report your sighting! A glowing red object hovered in the night sky and then disappeared without a trace over Benbrook, TX. A witness to this event submitted detailed testimony to MUFON, and even alerted the local police to it: I was sitting on my back patio on my cell phone talking to my brother approximately 9:18 pm Central Time on 5/10/2014. during the conversation I happened to look out over the trees and saw a a glowing, reddish, orange light stationary position, told my brother gotta-go I think I see a UFO or something and immediately hung up to free up my camera on my iPhone 3s. I was able to snap a picture. It appeared almost like a Flare gun emergency signal. but I don't believe it was,it didn't move. I saw it for about 45 seconds before I could get to take a picture looking up and down on the light and phone. I finally snapped a picture but what i saw was clear but the photo appears to be fuzzy because it was dark out but it was extremely bright.then it just disappeared. Just was gone. I never heard anything but it was off in the near distance.I was very apprehensive. I contacted a local TV station and also 911. Neither had any reports of any suspicious lights. I made a call to Mufon and got voice-mail and left my information. they called back and this is my 2nd contact. Phone/email Did you see this in the Fort Worth area, too? Could this simply have been a flare (as the witness suggests)? Report your sighting!
6/10 Update: Story updated to say "Houston." Accidentally placed this in San Antonio! A Texas UFO Sightings reader witnessed a large (and seemingly intimidating!) craft with bright lights moving silently overhead and eventually turning out of sight. They graciously shared their testimony with the site: I couldn't sleep so I walked outside to smoke and I knew it was late and there weren't any planes landing or taking off when something bright caught my eye. I looked to my left and I saw what was a large rectangular object with bright white, yellow and possibly orange lights.. But the strange thing was I could not hear anything like you would a plane. .It seemed that it was going to come straight over head about tree top level but it turned slightly towards Hobby airport and disappear behind some trees. Wow! What could this have been? Any ideas? Share your theories in the comments or on the Facebook page.
And if you saw this - or anything else strange in the San Antonio sky recently - report your sighting.
We've got two UFO sightings out of San Antonio to report today - both appear to have happened around the same time, but definitely are distinct. One star gazer was studying the night sky with a night vision camera when they noticed a light pop up out of nowhere, fade out for a long period of time, reappear, and then fade out again. What's interesting is the videographer didn't notice it had company - another light also appears alongside, exhibiting the same behavior. I - as well as a commenter - sure noticed it, though. These lights could not be seen with the naked eye: Check out the full video and description from the witness, who often posts videos about fantastical stories but does not appear to be yanking anyone's leg here. Many comments on the video are from other locals who've seen similar things: I was testing out the night vision or infrared effect on my Nikon d5200 in my backyard at night. When I happened to see a 'light' in the sky that I could only see on my cameras display, I did not see it with my naked eyes! What is it? Faint star, space trash, satellite? It fades in and out and gets brighter and dimmer then it just disappeared! I was filming looking west towards Castroville Tx. The day before or after (guessing) another San Antonio resident watched a bright white light hover in the daytime sky. Could be a balloon or something boring like that - since there's no video description, we can't really make too many assumptions. Worthwhile watch, though: Have you seen any UFOs in San Antonio recently? Report your sighting!
Smell that? It's a UFO! A Texas UFO Sightings reader kindly shared an interesting sighting of apparent triangle-shaped objects or crafts flying low with red lights, accompanied by strange smells: Several Triangle Shapes in sky. A report also hit MUFON, but I suspect it was from the same witness.
