Two Saturdays in a row, folks have reported and uploaded videos of a collection of sparkling lights in the sky, even during the daytime on one occassion. Could this be a case of Chinese lanterns? Looks like it! Not sure if the events that inspired these lanterns were related, however, as this occurred in at least 3 Texas cities. Is there special cause for celebration in Texas right now? Maybe! And why launch Chinese lanterns during the day? As always, keep in open mind - these could very well be UFOs. Check out the photos and witness testimony and judge for yourself! October 18th in Houston: We seen these flying ufo(s) from the back yard of my friends house. We Cant explain what it is, the lights are right above the red and green street light. They are flying really slow you can tell by looking at the lights and looking where they are in line with the street light. No noise whatsoever, I cant tell if its one huge aircraft or several different ones. The lights start to fade and disappear one by one, until they are all gone. My friend said he seen it earlier that day, and I dismissed him as being crazy!! thats why he is saying it in the video. "I told you i wasnt crazy"!! Another video from October 18th in Houston, but this time only one orb is visible and almost appears to pulsate. A comment on the YouTube video by another eyewitness even suggests Chinese lanterns: I saw like three off of I-10 at around 10- 10:30pm , they were pretty small. I was driving so i could not get a good look. I even u-turned went back to see and they were gone. I know they were not helicopters or planes, just too small. Could have been quadracopters or those damn floating Chinese candle things. Just some examples of objects besides Aliens. - comment by Andrew Martinez on YouTube video And last, but hardly least, a sighting out of Galveston on the 25th: Man they like doubled in the amount & then slowly disappeared 1-2 at a time....I was asking Giselle, are you seeing that too or ami I tripping?!?! She's the only one who saw it w me...and they just disappeared until all we saw was dark sky...it was freaking crazy!!!! Hollie N from Fort Worth also saw some orange orbs hovering over the El Rancho Escondido Apartments on the 25th, but in the daytime not nighttime sky (which is a little odd if these are indeed Chinese lanterns): My husband and I were having coffee on our veranda. I was looking at the sky, it was bright blue and clear. The time was approx. 12:30pm and I saw 5 objects directly above us at what I estimated was at least 15 thousand feet. They were bright round orbs with dark thin wings. At first I thought birds, but they did not ever move the wings, just floated around together in a semi circular pattern, going probably 15 mph, and they were moving south, then south east. I took pictures with my little camera. The pictures only show the orbs, and not very clearly. If you saw these objects as well, report your sighting. Especially if you think these aren't Chinese lanterns at all!

November 2nd, 2014 Update: Many meteors have been reported since. AMSMeteors.org has been receiving a steady stream of "fireball" reports over the past several days, with a definite peak on the dates of the 15th and 16th. Although none originated from Texas, I'm pretty sure the Lone Star State got a good show, too. Here are a few reports to share. Check out this anonymous testimony submitted to Texas UFO Sightings: Not sure of the exact time that I saw the tube like plane, I would guess between 2:30 As well as another report submitted to the site by Nick Alwin: Appeared to be a meteorite. Fireball with orange tail falling to the south toward Richmond-Rosenberg area. It looks like residents of the Great Lakes got most of the fireballs, but Texans clearly caught a glimpse of some pretty hectic space weather, too. And we know space is quite active right now - remember the comet that barely missed Mars on the 19th, just days after these sightings? The sun's been wonky as ever, to boot! If you saw a shooting star in Texas recently, report it!
Over the past few months, Texas UFO Sightings and other media outlets and UFO reporting centers have received dozens of photos, a handful of videos, and tons of witness testimony depicting a large cylinder-shaped craft with a ring of lights around it. The biggest of these sightings occurred on August 11th in Houston, and the most known recent sighting occurred on October 18th at the Dallas State Fair near Big Tex! While reports vary, a pattern has clearly emerged. This object may have even been spotted in Hong Kong. Click in to individual articles for details... this is simply an overview. November 8th, 2014 Update: The "flying saucer" has since been spotted in Ohio and again in Houston (<---another video) The reports keep rolling in. And amid all this triaging, I have failed to really connect the dots. I needed to wind back the clock and find out if there were any hints of this elusive, ubiquitous flying saucer before the hysteria hit.
It Was Colored Whitish Grey With A Shine Or Shimmer Around It. The Ufo Affected The Magnetic Compass Aboard The Aircraft Which Had No Other Instrumentation Aboard It. Which They Talked To, And Also Saw The Ufo. The Plane Landed Safely At Kitty Hill Airport. Both Subjects On Board Were Very Shaken And Disturbed. Pilot Consulted His Flight Manual To Report The Ufo And Found It Didn'T Have Sufficient
This is no prank. Big production marketing-driven hoax? Maybe?
All over the world, though?
_Not only did I look back in time, I also ventured outside Texas. And what do you know!?, there were dozens of reports.
Most notably in Hong Kong and Shenghai:
Here are some images from the supposed Shanghai sighting:
So, let's take a step back and recap the rest!!! In order of appearance...
July 15th in Austin:
August 11th mass sightings in Houston (read early report):
I also saw the cylindrical shaped craft with a ring of lights! I spotted it as I was driving home, it blinked out and appeared in a completely different spot not even a second later. It was then approached at high speeds by another similar craft, the second craft then hovered below the first for about 5 seconds and then sped off. The first continued in the direction it was originally going. - Texas UFO Sightings Reader
September 3rd in San Antonio:
September 25th, passenger on plane sees something awfully familiar by now (this may or may not have occurred in Texas):
Big Tex sighting in Dallas on October 3rd:
Fort Worth haunted house sighting on October 17th:
And here's the latest... drum roll.... another Dallas State Fair sighting near Big Tex, but on October 18th, and here you can clearly see the object is not a light pole (this was submitted anonymously to the TUS Facebook page):
I'm beginning to see a pattern here...
Have you also seen this object in your neighborhood? Report it.
Texas UFO Sightings fans are always posting great sightings on the Facebook page, and I have neglected sharing some of these just due to time! Here's a really good one - check out the following photo and testimony out of Houston, submitted to Texas UFO Sightings by Glenda M: Zoomed in: Driving on Richmond towards gessner I saw 2 bright lights, then one started to move away while the other stayed stationary. This is the picture, nothing too unusual till I caught up with the one on top left... Any thoughts? At a distance, the object almost resembles an upside down meteor! Or a contrail or chem trail --- however, upon closer viewing, this is clearly something else entirely. And apparently there was more than one witness, check out this comment on the original Facebook post: "My friend saw them too" Thoughts? Ideas? Join the Facebook conversation or post a comment.
And as always, if you've seen a UFO in Texas recently, report your sighting!
Not to be outdone by the latest "flying saucer" sightings, it looks like the triangles are back. Well, we have at least one report of a triangle-shaped craft - large and silent but moving at great speed across the sky - on the Texas coast. It was submitted to MUFON: On the evening of Oct.14th 2014 around 10:45pm I went out the front door(which faces East) of my house to close the windows on my old truck. It was a very clear night, not one cloud...when I finished with my truck I looked towards the Eastern skyline, I saw the constellation " Cassiopeia". I had read in "Astronomy" mag that the "M13" galaxy could be seen within about 1 degree from the constellation, so I looked all around it but saw nothing...I was thinking that on the next night I would use some binoculars. Just when I was turning to go back in the house, I caught a glimpse of something moving towards me in the sky, very close to where I had been searching......my eyes had become adjusted to the darkness by then and at first I thought it may be a flock of geese or duck flying in a 'V formation"...but as it got closer I could see that it was a well structured craft shaped like a triangle with large dim lights...it moved in a straight path almost over my position...I estimated it was traveling at 300 to 500 mph...I viewed the craft till it vanished in the western horizon!...or about 30 to 45 seconds....I also estimate it size to be approximately the size of a Half moon, and my distance from the craft (at it's closest ) at 3000 to 5000'.....the craft made no sounds, I had no time to grab a camera or even inform anyone else of what I was seeing....As the UFO flew almost overhead I had many thoughts...How closely it might resemble the "Phoenix lights" craft...How lucky I was to see such an object....the lights weren't bright but dimmed...reminded me of some "Ghost ship" stories of sailing ships...unless someone (like myself) just so happened to be looking in the right direction...they would never had known what had just flown over their heads......after I completely lost site of the UFO I hung around for about 5 minutes more just to see if there were any other craft, or planes or jets that may be in pursuit....nothing...nothing on the news afterwards either...still...I felt awed to have witnessed the event!...I thought it best to report it to "Mufon!" Wish I had some witnesses or additional evidence....but I do not! Have you seen any triangle UFOs in Texas this month? Report your sighting.
Triangle sightings seem to come and go in waves, so I won't be surprised if this is the first of many to come. We saw a wave of these exactly a year ago to date, in fact. |
