Beautiful Video of Orange Orbs Over Austin - Lanterns or UFOs?

February 8th, 2016 Update: The same thing was witnessed on February 6th, 2016 by an on duty police officer in Austin.

Video and testimony detailing a group of orange orbs traveling over Downtown Austin was just submitted to the site by reader Astrid. The video is beautiful, but may just show Chinese or sky lanterns. What's interesting however is around this same time, there was a similar UFO sighting in El Paso - which is too far for lanterns to travel, and lots of UFO activity in Austin.

​Glowing orange orbs moving steadily upwards toward the North until out of sight. The orbs seemed to originate from an area West of Mopac/Loop 1 around Barton Creek Preserve and Lake Austin. Cell phone and airplane towers can be used as visual markers in the video. We witnessed the orbs from the 20th floor balcony of a downtown Austin high rise near Caesar Chavez and I-35, at least miles East from where the orbs originated. I captured the sighting with a cell phone, utilizing the zoom function. The orbs were glowing orange but, appear white on the video.
10-15 orbs were visible at a time with the northern most disappearing out of sight as new ones appeared. All orbs moved steadily upward toward the North, with the exception of one orb that moved straight up vertically before disappearing from sight.
The sighting lasted about 15-20 minutes. A large helicopter flew very low near the high rise after the orbs no longer appeared and two very large black helicopters flew very low and side by side near the high rise the following morning and were headed North. Perhaps a coincidence.
Surprisingly, no reports were made of this sighting in Austin. At least none that I could find. However, there were similar reports of orange orbs in nearby cities prior to June 24th, 2015, along with a large, meteor like flash in the sky, which we also witnessed several days prior.
