South by Southwest 2017 is officially underway in Austin, Texas, and so thousands of festival goers are roaming the downtown streets. Monday night, a group of drones put on a show over 6th Street. The display of lights was put on by the creators of a new film about the famous Phoenix Lights incident from 1997. Personally, drone shows like these don't do much to help spread the truth about the phenomenon, but just risk people falsely identifying a UFO and being turned off from the subject altogether, but it looks like the show was quite pretty:
What is odd is so far I can't find any actual accounts of these drones anywhere online, except for the Austin Statesmen video and report, which was parroted by other sites. Are you at SXSW right now? Did you see these drones over 6th street? I'd love to hear about it. I am also curious as to how legal this all was, as in the case of the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show, the drone show was prerecorded for safety reasons.
