Have you seen two bright stars sitting oddly close in the sky together? Chance are you're looking at Venus and Jupiter! The two planets are passing each other this month and so of course plenty of popular news outlets - from Business Insider to Space.com - are reporting on the event, and getting all kinds of incredible photos: This close encounter is called the Venus-Jupiter conjunction and it usually happens once a year. But this year's event is particularly special because of when it's taking place and how close the planets will appear to come together — close enough that they will almost seem to collide with each other. Texas UFO Sightings even saw a few reports from people who mistook the planets for UFOs (unsurprisingly). Have you been seeing this phenomenal alignment at night? Do you have a great photo to share? Please do!
Find out what's in store for the rest of the month and when to get a the best view with Space.com's full schedule.
