5/6 Update: NBC 7 local news is now refusing to answer questions about the event, while a very unlikely explanation that this was a lens flare (despite multiple eyewitnesses witnesses) is being offered up. A pretty phenomenal sight was captured by San Diego's NBC news crew and quickly reported on by local news outlets:
Some pretty spooky UFO activity had already been widely reported in the area just before this event!
So far, publications are suggesting that it's Venus causing strange atmospheric illusions. (Ha!) While others are saying the lights are a lens flare on the camera, reflecting lights that are in an identical pattern on the ground. That could be I suppose, but that seems pretty reaching, too. You be the judge, as always. Considering the recent spike in mass sightings of large crafts in Texas, this sighting is of particular interest. Check out more amazing sightings like these that have occurred around the country, including a pretty amazing triangle craft over Peru, in this really nice collection of videos from (apparently) the last few days alone:
It's a little frustrating that I can't find any other eyewitness reports and the news report doesn't elaborate on what the lights were doing before or after - if you have any info to share about this story, please do.

ranslation for the video captured in peru: our cameraman recorded 10 uninterrupted minutes of this strange object which, according to the experts, might be an unidentified flying object (in video) - what's that shit - not an star - he says there's an ufo - and it's very bright... it's not an star - and it's moving - you see now? - it moves slowly ufologist in my 23 years of work I have seen objects of many shapes and this is a new case that does not surprise me because peru is a country where ufos are continuously observed
