"Got brighter as if ready to leave the planet" - Object with Black Wing? Shoots Off Into Stratosphere

• When: May 4th, 2015
• Where: Along H-287 in Bowie
• What: Bright object, possibly with a black wing, taking off into stratosphere

A Texan who witness quite the UFO sent detailed testimony and a drawing to MUFON. Essentially, they saw a bright light with a black wing or some sort of material shoot up into the stratosphere:

Upon my return from New Mexico I was driving on H-287 towards Ft. Worth when I saw this bright object ... round with a black wing(?) protruding from the craft. I couldn't make out if it was a wing or just part of the object. It was between the clouds, got brighter as if ready to leave the planet and off it went and disappeared. Lasted about 5 seconds if that. I could not track it nor did i see it again.

That's no drone, meteor, plane, bird, or weather balloon. Did you see this UFO as well? Help solve the mystery and report your sighting.
