"I really would like to know what this could be" - Multiple UFO Sightings in Fort Worth

  • When: August 28th, 2013
  • Where: Fort Worth
  • What: Orb that changes colors, and occasionally moves
A very odd orb has been haunting a few residents of Fort Worth for a while now. We've got multiple reports of a UFO hovering in the sky, changing colors, and also moving around. That's certainly not a star, satellite, or Chinese lantern.

So, what could it be?

Read the first UFO report submitted to MUFON right here:
I am a sky watcher and somewhat familiar with most objects in our skies. This object first started appearing in the north about 6 months ago or more. When it appears{after dark}usually around 7-8pm CST. It shows up first as a bright white Orb. Then proceeds to start cycling thru different colors. I thought this was a strange star for a very long time because it reliably remains in the same place sometimes night after night. August 29th 2013 for the first time I observed it move location and also appear to release a smaller orb then reabsorb it. It did not move far just went behind some trees. I went out and checked the new location and it was still same object doing the same light show. It makes no sounds but it very noticeable in the sky. I lost sight only because I had to go to sleep. It was still in the sky when I went to sleep around 11:00pm. Since it shows up a lot my next sighting I will try a video camera with a zoom lens and document this. When I get that I will send this along, so it can be analyzed. Thanks for your help with this. I really would like to know what this could be, man made?, a weird star that moves?, Planet, or a genuine UFO (unknown).
And read the comment of a fellow Fort Worth resident, Derick Cooper, who spotted the same thing:
I saw this too last week, as did my GF as well. We were talking on the phone when I noticed it, I in East FW, she in Colleyville. She and her son saw 2 of them. When I first saw it, it seemed to be at about 3-4,000 ft. just S. of downtown FW. It slowly drifted NW. I watched it for 35-40 minutes until I could not see it for the trees. It looked like a very bright star & was changing color as described.

I live on a hill facing down town ft worth, at oakhurst scenic drive in riverside area. I watch the sky most every night. I've seen the same object, but there appears to be 3 other objects that are in a triangle that goes north , south and small point, east. On saturday 9/21/13 a silver plane that didn't have a loud sound, flew low as a kite would fly over us. It appeared to hover for a second then flew on. For the next 3 or four days the sky was filled with activity in this area. I assumed all of this is some type of military activity, or satellite planes watching fort worth, Has there been a threat we haven't been told? is all of this related
