I received a UFO report from someone who was lucky enough to spot a bright orange and red orb fall from the sky and fade to black along the way down. Although Pascal Barczak, a resident of Austin, TX, witnessed it at the intersection of Joe Tanner Ln and 290, he speculates it could have landed around Nutty Brown Rd. He tried to find the UFO again with no luck, but he did spot a helicopter who seemed to be looking for it, too. An important enough detail for him to tweet about it. There were a few meteor sightings the same night in San Antonio and the Houston area. Could space debris stretch so far and wide? Here's the detailed report: I was stopped at the traffic light facing west on 290 at the intersection of Joe Tanner Ln at around 12:30am when I saw a mysterious light fall perpendicular from the sky at about 11:30 (direction) (SW) from my location. Orb shaped and Orange/red in color, then faded to black on approach. It was pretry far in the distance, but If I had to guess, I'd say it fell somewhere in the area bordered by 290, 1826, and Nutty Brown Rd. I may have been as far away as Dripping Springs, however. I drove toward where I thought it might be, and I'm pretty sure I saw at least one helicopter headed that direction within 10 minutes of sighting. Drove around the Granada Hills neighborhood for a while before giving up. Please contact me if you get any more information about what this may have been.
