A father and his daughter were going on an evening walk with their dogs when they spotted a peculiar bright satellite in the sky, like a "bright planet moving across the sky." However, it was way too low to the ground and bright to be a satellite. Then another light popped up alongside it, followed by more lights (this time, flashing).
The witness kindly submitted a description of their encounter to TUS, and is wondering if anyone else saw these strange lights (please report your sighting if you did):
I'm always looking at the sky at night. There are tons of planes in the air here, but I have never seen anything like this. About 6pm my 10 yr old daughter and I walked the dogs down our street and she has been interested in satellites. She said look dad a satellite. In the west about 20 degrees above the horizon I saw a light that looked Like a bright planet moving across the sky. A little too bright to be a satellite and appeared lower to me. I started to say no it's a plane, but it was moving faster than your average Lear jet on landing approach. Also no sound. About that time another light popped up next to it and it looked like a winged aircraft with lights on either wing, but no sound, no aviation flashers. There was no shape, just lights. Then I said well that's no satellite. I still could have written it off, but then several strobe flashes appeared on the rear between the 2 original lights. 5 or 6 all bright white lights, no colored strobes. Unlike any plan I've seen. It was pretty far north west of us now and I watched it disappear in a few seconds. Maybe 10 Seconds for the whole siting. It flew south to north. Just wondering if anyone else saw it.
