Meteorologist Detects UFO on Weather Radar - Large & Hovering Over Lubbock

4/15/2016

  • When: April 13th, 2016
  • Where: Hereford, Lubbock area
  • What: Object detected hovering on weather radar

A local meteorologist in Hereford noticed an anomaly on the weather radar for Lubbock, Texas - specifically a large hovering object that doesn't act like a cloud or other typical weather pattern. The witness attached photos and a video (scroll down) of the radar to a MUFON report:

Anomaly measured on Lubbock, Texas weather radar (KLBB) at approx 7K feet. Is stationary through several radar cycles. The same object does not appear when viewed from the Amarillo, Texas radar (KAMA) where the beam intersects the same area at approx 4K feet. Meaning, that the Amarillo radar beam passed "under" the object that reflected a signal to the Lubbock radar when sensed the object at 7K feet. I'm a meteorologists and have been using radar remote sensing for 20-years, this object isn't "weather" such as a cloud as it does not move in a lateral direction through several radar cycles.

Attaching:

1. Radar imagery from KLBB with measurement from radar to object (showing beam height).

2. Radar imagery from KAMA with measurement from radar to object (showing beam height).

3. Loop of radar cycles indicating object is stationary.

4. Volumetric 3D scan of object (from KLBB radar).
Do you live in the Alvin or Houston area? Did you see anything strange in the sky around this time that could help explain this sighting? Report your sighting.

Do you understand weather radar? Know what this could be? Chime away in the comments or on the Facebook page.

You're very likely looking at a wind farm.

First things: the radar beam height given by RadarScope is a standard estimate. The Gibson Ridge program, which creates the volumetric 3D scan, probably uses the same standard estimate. The actual height of the beam depends on the temperatures at that point in time. Because it's nighttime, the temperature probably rises rapidly as you get farther above the ground. This will push the radar beam closer to the ground. This is the same general principle as light refracting through water. The point is that the radar beam is probably much closer to the ground than the RadarScope estimate suggests.

Next, if you take a look at Google Maps (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.7709227,-102.2322745,13z/data=!3m1!1e3 ; you may need to zoom in), you'll see that this area southeast of Hereford has a very large wind farm. Wind farms are stationary and highly reflective (the radar beam reflects strongly off the metal blades), and when the blades are turning, they produce the pulsing variations in reflectivity you see in the loop. They'll also be shallow in height, which explains the volumetric 3D scan that looks like a pancake (remember, the Gibson Ridge program thinks the beam height is higher than it actually is, as well).

It is probably Russia trying to interfere with our weather. Democrats need to investigate this. It is possible that it could be linked back to Donald Trump. Then they could finally say, "Well, Look at what we have here"LOL
