One of the most talked about UFO sightings of late was the triangle-shaped craft with red lights that hovered and slowly flew over Austin's Austin City Limits music fest a few weekends ago. Immediately, folks took to the web to say they saw Chinese lanterns get released in the area, and so that's all these red lights were. They just happened to make a triangle. However, I've seen countless UFO videos - many of which are really Chines lanterns - but that is not at all what the multiple videos, photos, and eyewitness accounts depict. Chinese lanterns are scattered and stationary and do not form shapes or fly in sync together. It's possible Chinese lanterns were released in the area, too. But that doesn't mean that's what ACL-ers saw. It's quite possible there is a cover up effort underway. As someone who's reported on UFOs for a while now - when I see people immediately debunking a UFO, before the whole picture is in view, I am immediately suspicious. It's also helpful to look at the context. Texas is currently enduring a wave of V-shaped and triangle UFO sightings. Luckily, a friend of mine was one of the witnesses to the ACL UFO, and he captured some spectacular footage from downtown. He is convinced that what he saw a very large craft (he's watched military crafts in action before, and the size and scope of this object reminded him of that). Here's his phenomenal footage, featuring an object hovering and rotating around and then disappearing into the clouds, though it looked much better when I viewed it directly on his phone, unfortunately: Did you spot the ACL UFO? Report your sighting! Do you have theories on what my friend and tons of other Austinites witnessed? Have at it in the comments!
