A couple spotted a bright light in the night sky - a star, plane, maybe the moon? But then it disappeared. What could this be? Check out the photo and read the graciously submitted by reader Vickie P:  It is a bright light I saw last night when my husband and I went over to my in-laws house to drop something off. I'm always looking up at the sky and I notice a bright light just hovering in one spot and I asked my husband was it a plane or maybe just a star? He said he didn't know but it wasn't moving. I stood out there for just a few minutes with no movement from this light whatsoever so I took a picture of it and went inside. I peeked out the window a few minutes later and it was still there but after about 10 mins later we left my in-laws house and the light was gone. It is definitely not the first time I've seen something like this. Did you see any vanishing stars in the Dallas area? Help us solve this mystery - report your sighting!

I just realized I left my comment on the wrong sighting(Richmond), it was actually the Lancaster sighting that I believe is the same one I saw. I live in Irving, Lancaster is close enough that we could have been seeing the same thing.. I was looking online to see if I could find anyone reporting what I saw too. I walked out my door that morning at 430am and it was so bright that I noticed it right away. It was bright red/orange color. I saw it hovering for quite a while and then it looked like it faded off in the distance. On my phone camera it just looks like a small white flicker, but with my eyes it was very bright red/orange. All I know is that it was not a plane. What was that? Very strange. Did I see my first ufo?
I am pretty sure its Venus it's been seen since early September.

It was moving in the sky away from me until I saw disappear. I don't think planets do that.
