Pretty & Perplexing Lights Traveling Around Texas?

• When: January 17th to 23rd, 2015
• Where: Houston, Austin, and Lohns (near Brady)
• What: Dozens of orange twinkling lights hovering

February 1st, 2015 Update: Many, many folks saw this and reports keep coming in.

A Houston, Texas resident spotted some twinkling lights in the sky. And no, they aren't stars! Or Chinese lanterns (at least not the traditional kind). What's interesting is this does not appear to be the only sighting; these lights may have been spotted in other nearby cities.

Saw this Saturday night at 8:30pm in Houston. Just so happened I was out on my
porch and all I had was my iPhone. These lights were moving West to East in pattern and were gaining altitude.

At least three people commented on the YouTube video and shared their similar encounters. Nolan Torres, for example, began his comment with "I saw these as well. It was crazy." There was also a MUFON report depicting an identical event in Houston on the same night.

An undetermined number of orange lights flying at a consistent rate of speed, with consistent spacing, over a time period of approximately 15 minutes, heading in a roughly Northeasterly direction, to the best of our knowledge. Four orange to red globes like a huge light bar that went out and appeared again dwindling to a point of light that shot across the sky to be accompanied by several blinking lights at juxtaposition with each other moving to the west . This isn't the first time we have seen "pretty lights" in the sky but certainly the most colorful. There was the sound of a jet which leads me to believe it was some kind of military action. I am unfamiliar with what they are capable of so the light bar may be a commonplace occurrence. We have seen a sky full of twinkling lights at sunset and triangles of white globes that blink out. I name these as UFO's only because they are ufo to me. Sorry no photo. Was pretty awed and didn't want to come in the house for a phone or camera.Was wondering if anyone else saw them or knows what they are.
