Real or Hoax? Ghost Yanks Phone Off Hook in Video from Texas Motel

Supposed footage of a paranormal entity yanking a phone off its hook in a Texas motel room has been circulated online. Witness Frank Ramirez can be heard in the film discussing the ghostly presence, which he'd already experienced, prior to capturing the apparent "poltergeist" event on camera:

However, many online are crying foul about the footage, accusing Ramirez of hoaxing it. They suggest he used strings to make the effect (notice the strange placement of the hanger and the TV wires, and Ramirez' unbelievable timing). Although this could be a hoax, I see no clear evidence of that and understand that unexplained, poltergeist events like these do occur from time to time, and so I thought this was worth sharing.
