Update: This is not the only valid UFO sighting in Houston on July 4th! More to come. As well, another set of UFOs showed up before a fireworks show in Fort Worth, as well! Right before a 4th of July fireworks show, the real show began. Several orbs poked out of the cloudy, late afternoon sky, and seemingly moved together in formation, blinking on and off. A crowd of people spot it and chatter as they film. Only one video has surfaced so far, but please let me know if you have anything to add! Below is the video description, video, comments from other witnesses, and more: "Spotted these about 5 minutes before the fireworks started." Here are some interesting comments from other Texans who might have seen the same thing, as far down as South Texas: I watch the same UFO over Houston for over 45 minutes - Tracey Starnes What do you guys think? Chinese lanterns? See video for comparison: ...Or something unexplainable, like Japan's now famous volcano lights? See video:

Did anyone see a green hovering object during the fireworks display over Cedar Park? It was moving slightly and later turned red and descended.

I saw what I thought were two UFOs July 4th 2013 in Plano. I was trying to get a glimse of the fireworks from my front yard. I live near Park and Jupiter. Coming from the South East looking towards Murphy, I saw what I thought was two balls of red light that I waited to see blow up into fireworks or make a boom sound, instead they quickly headed my direction going Northwest. As they got closer I was expecting to make out the outline of planes or helicopters or paragliders and to hear a motor. They were red/orange spheres with no sound and I didn't make out any outline of an object. I got my boyfriend who only caught the tail end and said "It is 4th of July, it has to be flares or something". About 15 minutes later a group of 5 or more were coming from the same direction towards me again, this time you could make out the parachutes or bag attached, so it was either flares or japanese latterns or something similar. What still gets to me though, is that the first two came right over me and I felt like I was watching something out of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I did not make out any kind of parachute/bag or the like when I saw the first two fly over. When the group of them came, the bag/parachute was obvious. I have always been a fan of UFOs and I have always wanted to see them. However, I cannot call what I saw, no matter how bad I want to, UFOs. It is just an experience that I will assume it was flares/japanese latterns, but I will still wonder about the first two that flew over me. There needs to be a catalog/pictures of all known flying objects taken in all types of weather, at different angles, in different types of lighting, during different seasons, and from different distances. That would be a hell of a lot of work, but it would help UFO enthusiest know what they are seeing and then only report the sightings that the catalog could not explain. Have you ever seen an RC plane or helicopter and at first glance thought you were seeing a real one? I have and I cannot estimate how large something I see in the sky really is, they always seem a lot larger than they really are and some things appear smaller than they really are. This is why a catalog would be so helpful.
