January 30th, 2016 Update: Reports of strange sounds in Texas continue
Earthquakes? Top secret military jets? Explosions? The... Apocalypse?!? Say it isn't so! Everyone's hearing loud rumbling noises that persist for several minutes at a time, strange booming, horns, and other haunting tunes outside their door. Earthquakes have been making some unusual appearances lately - in Irving and Venus (Dallas area). And in fact, on December 18th, a Dallas resident posted the following on a forum: "Anyone around DFW just hear that one. Im not freaking out or nothing will all these other boom threads just find it odd." Reports like these have been coming and going since 2011. Just the other day, on the 5th of December, flashing lights accompanied by a humming noise was reported in an unknown Texas town. And recently in April 2014, Texas UFO Sightings reported a phenomenon like this in San Antonio. This phenomenon is a worldwide, well-docucmented one. Check out the following YouTube video featuring an account of "mysterious booms" in the UK and New York on November 22nd, the very same day the big earthquake occurred in Irving, TX. The sound you hear is a persistent, loud, yet muffled thundering noise: You can find videos all over YouTube and the web featuring ominous and undeniably phenomenal sounds like these: was tailgating at a texas aggie football game and a friend and I both heard what sounded strange at first, and we looked at each other and he said did you hear that and I said yes it sounded like a horn, we heard it twice at different times, but it was really a strange sound. The sound was almost deafining. I thought it was a jet that was going to literally crash right on top of the house. When we went outside there was nothing, but still a defining sound. It lasted for more than 10 mins. The sound did NOT fade and reappear but was a constant very, very loud jet noise just like in the vid. It came from the sky. Very weird!!!
The earth is always in a state of flux, who knows what these sounds could be or which ones are related, if any. But something is definitely happening that was not happening before. If you've heard strange sounds like these in Texas, please share your account. If you have ideas on what these sounds could be, please share them in the comments or on the Facebook page. The topic got real hot again when a wave of reports hit the Internet, especially godlikeproductions.com. Even Texas UFO Sightings received a comment about it:

My husband and I were awake late last night in Lexington, TX. At 2 AM, we heard a massive jet engine type noise overhead, and all of the neighbor dogs started barking. The noise was not smooth like a jet engine, but it was rumbling. My husband ran outside and then yelled for me to come out. I was looking overhead, but saw nothing. Then I saw something moving to the Northwest. I saw two flickering white lights positioned vertically with a lot of distance between them. My husband said he saw still red lights all around the white ones. He said it was like something moving in formation but not organized.

Thanks, Brey! It was very strange!
I've been hearing this rumbling jet noise for a few weeks. I grew up in the flight paths of civilian and military airports and also worked for American Airlines for 11 years. I consider myself familiar with the sounds of many jet engines and can usually identify whether they are manufactured by Pratt and Whitney, GE, Rolls Royce, etc., by sound. I read that the Airbus A380 recently began operations at Dallas-Ft.Worth International, flown by Qantas Airways and Emirates Airlines. My best guess is that the unique engines on that aircraft may be the source. The rumble is louder than the usual aircraft in our area.

Bryan, thank you for your feedback! I found sound for the Airbus A380. It was loud, but not as loud as what we heard. Also, I checked the routes of that plane in Texas, and it does not fly over us. To be honest, the noise we heard was a lot like the approach of the mother ship in Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind. I hate to use that example, because I want to remain open minded, but it was more like that.

For all of the last year I have been hearing this strange humming sound I cannot identify. Three times before Dawn I have driven in a 10 mile radius around our farm to see if I can identify the source. I cannot.

Moving may not help. We moved from Ellis to Kerr County (260 miles) and I still notice the low hum/rumblings when the day noises quiet down. I used to think it was long freight trains 5-10 miles away, but there aren't any active trains out here in the Hill Country. My husband doesn't hear/notice the hum, so I'm glad to know that others have also heard it for years. For now, it's unexplained low frequency noise pollution. I've wondered if boats and ships create this type of sound that affects underwater critters negatively. If so, we need to find a way to STOP IT for all life on land and sea!

I live in the area between I-35 W and Blue Mound Rd. in north Fort Worth. Since we moved here in 2015 we have heard and felt strange rumblings that are very loud and they happen day and night. These sounds are loud enough that they shake our house at times and we have even heard them while standing outside. We moved here from White Settlement, Tx., where we lived was maybe 5 blocks from NAS JRB and we never heard sounds like that coming from there. They fly the jets and the huge cargo planes and you can tell those when they go over but these sounds are nothing like that. Would really like to know what these are because they rattle us and our dogs.

I live in the lake worth area and for several months in between midnight and 4am you can occasionally (but daily) hear loud rumble sounds. At first i thought it was like construction or some kind of heavy machinery but it's become more consistent. And the base is nearby but this sound is way different and it sounds like it's real close. It sounds more like something pounding metal. It's weird.

It's August the 30th 2018 now, I love in Allen tx. For the last year or 2, I have been hearing the loud boom's at night, the second or 3rd time I heard it, I was standing outside, as neighbor's came out of their home's as well, because of the loud boom's, as we were listening and looking up at the sky, in the direction the noise, cannon sounding book's were coming from, there was a big flash of light in the sky. I just recently, after doing some research, discovered that what we are possibly hearing and seeing, are earthquake's and release of case's and burning of quartz, caused by the movement of the plates. There is a fault line that runs through Texas, right next to Dallas, called the Balcones, they say it has not been active for thousands of years, but I think it may have woken up, with some tiny, small stretches. I am not sure, but also think that there is a larger family tree here, trying to have a family reunion, with all the strange noises all around the world. Could it be possible, that all the fault lines, all around the world, are somehow connected? And are gearing up for some really big gathering, that will make for one big shebang and have the continents separate, split, divide the U.S.? These's strange Boom sounds and other strange noises, flashes of light's happened 100 year's ago, when the Madrid fault line went Haywire and an 8.1 magnitude earthquake hit Missouri. The Mississippi river ran backward for several hours and there were large, wide, miles long cracks in the ground. People said that domesticated animal's became wild and that wild animal's became tame and came up to, right next to people, right before the earthquake. After the earthquake, people had trouble breathing and large aftershocks shook the area for month"s and month's after. Anyone out there reading this, have any insight? Clue's? Idea's? Information? Should we move somewhere father up north, away from fault lines altogether, if possible?

Just heard two LOUD booming, grinding sounds right in central Dallas. Sounded like an immense boulder being dragged. Lasted about 1 minute each time. Never heard anything like it before.
