Austin has been a magnet for some pretty crazy UFOs over the past year, most notably the triangle craft that hovered over ACL this past October. Well, the latest YouTube video to come out of the city is no less impressive.
Check out the following photo recap, video, and witness testimony - which detail the account of a strange ball of light hovering in the mid night air, bopping around in circles, and eventually shooting straight down to... well, seemingly the ground. It's similar to a another sighting in the area from about a month earlier.
Here's the video, as well as some quotes from it in case you're at work and can't watch!:
We're watching a UFO that's changing directions over Austin.
Finally, here's the original testimony submitted to iReport.Cnn.com:
We saw this UFO/drone moving in ways that normal airplanes certainly don't over downtown Austin last night 1/10/14 around 8:30pm. We initially thought it was the police helicopter, until it suddenly stopped and moved in a different direction. It maneuvered erratically for about 2-3 minutes before I thought to get out my iPhone and start recording it. This was video was taken from the Cherywood coffee house parking lot on 38 1/2 Street looking southwest toward downtown Austin. If it is some sort of drone, the FAA should at least know about this activity.
Did you spot this Austin UFO? If so, report your sighting. If you have theories as to what this could have been (drone, CGI, RC plane, helicopter?), sound off in the comments!

I saw this exact same thing last night. And I live on Lafayette Ave, which dead ends in the parking lot you filmed from. I walked on to my front porch, which faces East, and out of the corner of my eye i saw a flash, about 35degrees the horizon. At first i thought shooting star. Only it looked like a green orb, not off in the sky but pretty close to me, and was not moving fast enough to be a meteor(ite). and was basically falling at a constant speed, not unlike a flare or the end of a large firework. Only there was no noise and it gave off no smoke or sparks or any sort of trail. It fell straight down, I'm talking perpindicular, no variation or blowing with the wind, and the light it gave off was a constant orb which never variated and didn't appear to illuminate my surroundings. From my vantage I would have to guesstimate the orb of light was about the size one of the big medicine balls. It fell from what I would guess to be about 400 ft high, and appeared to me to be about 4 streets over, so maybe like 800 ft away. It took about 2.5 seconds from when I looked at it to when it would have landed. It fell behind the treeline and at the time it would have landed, there was no crash or flash or anything. From the place you filmed from I think it would have landed around due SE of you (You were facing SW), a few hundred feet away like where the train tracks hit cherrywood. Granted this was last night and not a week ago when you were filming. I do not know if it was moving around before I went outside, but I'm fairly sure what caught my attention was a flash, so it may have actually somehow formed, or what have you, while I could see it. It was unlike anything I've ever seen and I'm a pretty avid stargazer.

*I suppose it could have been a drone of some sort but the light it gave off was a cross between a flare and almost like a small arc of electricity that only took up less a third of the orb, in its center, but illuminated the rest of the orb with an eerie green, didn't seem to be the same light LEDs or flares give off.

Actually it could have been something like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUiuRGu8VEo. video seems suspicious though. filmed on a tripod, while shaking it
