  • When: April 17th, 2013
  • Where: West, Texas (near Waco)
  • What: UFO spotted diving into the West, Texas fertilize plant prior to explosion.

Okay, guys, you are going to have to help me confirm or debunk this one.

I did not expect to be blogging about the horrific, deadly explosion of a West, Texas fertilizer plant this morning. I'm heartbroken for all those who lost homes and family members and I really don't like turning the story into a UFO story, but there is all kinds of talk on the web about a possible UFO or fireball that hits the building before the explosion. I did not see a UFO/fireball, and I've reluctantly watched the videos of the explosion over and over again. So far, I'm not buying it.

Saying that, if there was some sort of missile, meteor or drone at the scene of the crime, that's a huge news story, worthy of a cover up, and I'd like to get these rumors on the public record.  Supposedly a gif was posted showing a UFO clearly hit the building, but it's been taken down.

Here's the lousy screen shot I took that may or may not show the UFO, you see a big burst of light before the big explosion - I don't think it is:

And the reason for all this speculation, some quotes from online forums, specifically GodLikeProductions.com and AboveTopSecret.com:
I paused it right when the fireball enters the screen from the left... I can see the movement from left to right and it hits the building then explodes. Maybe someone with better equipment and get a good shot or 2 of it and post.
...
I think someone set fire to the plant to mark it as a target. There are reports of locals of a meteor or place crashing into the plant. It was a missile or I'm a fool. I'm still hoping someone can prove me wrong, but giving the reports from locals and the video it looks like we are at war. I bet the missile came from down south of the border. All I know is something hit that plant that caused it to go boom. - User ID 36874452

less than an hour and the pic is gone 404 - User ID 33891573

If you stop this right before the explosion and use your arrow key to progress forward, I see something come from the left and join into the fire...then bam! - User ID 25225980

The clear sign that it was a missile is the explosion that goes upwards not outwards!

Im not far from the accident in West Texas and thats what it was on our local news a gas station clerk was there watching it he said it was a small fire and the volunteer firefighters got called in first to help put out the fire he said he heard it got out of control they called 911 saying its going to explode and he watched it explode
No bomb No missile No Doom
Im 1 hour away from West Texas I would know we are so close we can smell the chemicals burning
Fertilizer itself is a bomb thats what was used by the OK bomber its highly explosive and thats why you see the big boom thats why the area was evacuated also there are open gas lines that were exposed in West thats were you got that flash of light from the news said they were concerned with all the open gas lines blowing up out there - Lovin It

3) Something like this happening is not completely out there for Texas. it's actually quite common, if not on this scale. It likely comes down to someone not doing their job and creating a safety issue. These plants are run in such a fashion that even one person not doing their job could cause the entire plant to just melt down, or explode in this case. -Rabbit806

And the video (caution: this is shocking):

I am a Native Texan and Ilive on Lake Whitney about than 20 miles or less as the crow flies to West. People need to understand not only was this a complete accident, but this was a small, quaint, peaceful and great food, great people and throws a heck of a West Fest Festavile in town. My entire house shook and every widow shook not rattled. I immediately after checking outside got on the internet and in moments heard the details. I was devastated but at the same time completely satisfied with the information given. My biggest issue would be with the state not mandating that ALL FIRE DEPARTMENTS within a 100 MILES radius of ANY SUCH CHEMICAL COMPANY should & should have received SPECIAL TRAINING (WHICH EXISTS) TO ANY AND ALL FIRE DEPT. PERSONAL AT THE COMPLETE EXPENSE OF THE STATE!!! These are Volunteers in areas like this with very little donations and very little grants received each year. The locals have stepped up to emotionally recover and rebuild. With little or no real assistance from our great state. How sad that this is the real issue and not stupid stories about UFO's. Not that I don't believe in them or that they have been seen as close as 5 miles to my home. NOT THE REAL ISSUE OF THE ARTICLE PEOPLE! GOD BLESS THESE HERO'S FROM THE VFD AND GOD BLESS OUR LAW ENFORCEMENTS, EMS AND MOST OF ALL OUR TROOPS <3
