More than a dozen reports of a large meteorite or fireball over the San Francisco area and Northern California were reported to AMSMeteors.org. The event occurred less than a day before deadly wildfires struck the nearby wine country. The fireball was reported as extremely large and appearing to fall. Wildfires and droughts tend to be cyclical in nature, but this is also true for meteorites:
Is it possible that shooting stars cause weather events here on Earth? That is certainly what ancient people believed. If this is true, that could explain why natural disasters like flooding, earthquakes, and yes, even wildfires, are not so easily predicted or avoided by meteorologists.
So far, at least 35 people have lost their lives in the California wildfires, which firefighters continue to battle. Typically, deaths due to meteorite impact result from smoke inhalation versus direct impact. However in February 2016, a meteorite directly struck a man in India and killed him, just two years after the Chelyabinsk Meteor Impact that injured hundreds. Strange shooting stars have also recently been spotted in Texas, Kansas and Hawaii. With so many people giving out apocalyptic predictions about climate change, one can only wonder if this fate is indeed written in our stars. Share your theories on this sighting and more in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram! Are all fireballs meteorites, or could they be crashing satellites or ships? It's probably worth noting that some of the more epic and well-documented UFO crashes are often reported as meteor events by the mainstream media. If you've seen a UFO or a large meteor in the sky, report it!

Most notably was the Valentines Day meteor in Russia from 2013, that damaged hundreds of buildings and caused thousands of injuries. Fortunately, this year was more beautiful than terrifying.
