7/8 UPDATE: This is not the only UFO sighting like this from June 30th. Read more. A Texan was woken up by the sound of a jet - well, they thought it was a jet. Since they were used to crafts flying overhead (due to their location), they thought it was odd to hear such a noise at 3 am. Then they noticed that the moon was especially bright, and so they peeked out the window and realized, that's not the moon at all - but instead a very bright, pulsating ball of light moving in different directions. By the time they busted out their camera phone, the UFO was gone. Here's the full MUFON report: June 30, 2013 I live on the flight path to Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). I was sleeping & I woke up to the sound of a jet coming in for a landing. It was unusual because they usually don't have a lot of planes coming from that direction after about midnight or 1am & I knew it was later than that because I went to bed a little after 1am. I could see a bright light shining through my shades. (I have matchstick shades w/ a canvas backing. they are for privacy, not light blocking) and I remember thinking, "the moon is really bright tonight." I was laying there trying to go back to sleep when I saw the light slowly move from the right side of my window to the left side. and I thought, "the moon can't move like that." and I sat up & watched the light slowly move back to the right & as it was moving I noticed that the light appeared to be shimmering. I opened the shade to get a better view of the sky & the light wasn't the moon. the moon was peeking out from behind a cloud & it was a half moon & an orange color. the light I was seeing was bright white, oval/football shaped and under the clouds. It was a shimmering light, like the way sunlight plays on the surface of choppy water, except this was in the sky. there were faint rainbows at the edges of the light and it was just moving back & forth across the sky. I kept thinking, "am I really seeing this. am I dreaming? Is this real? what is it?" I looked away, rubbed my eyes to make sure I was awake, & looked back & it was still there. and then I thought, "Oh my god, where's my phone." I ran to get my phone to film it & when I got back it was gone. I was facing east, it was about 45 degrees above the horizon. the moon was above the clouds & about the size of a nickel. the light was below the clouds & about the shape of a football but the size of a tennis ball maybe a little bigger. I checked the time when it was all over & the clock read 3:17 am. I checked IAH's website & they had Qatar Airways 6075 from Atlanta land at 3:30 am & that was the only plane that came in at that time & it was late it had been delayed 80 min in Atlanta. I have no idea what it was. I would expect it to be explained as some sort of astronomical phenomenon like aurora borealis or ball lightening. And here's a comment from a fellow Texan who saw something similar, but on the night before: I live in springtown tx around 7pm on june 29(yesterday) me and my son saw that exact same light we thought it it was a falling star but it stopped and went backwards. - Calvin

Right before a fireworks show in Fort Worth, some curious looking objects - clearly not fireworks - showed up. Luckily, a witness snapped a photo and got it all on video (soon to come, having trouble uploading it at the moment!). In the photo, you can see a few pairs of greenish blue lights. And in the MUFON report republished below, you can read in more detail about how they wandered around the sky somewhat erratically and appeared in many different colors, from blue to white to green. First, here's the photo: Happened 2 hours before main firework display. These were not fireworks! This is not the first batch of UFOs to show up before a fireworks show, which has me wondering... something similar also happened in Houston.
Could these simply be drones or helicopters checking out the show? We may never know. In the meantime, let me know if you saw this, too!
Update: This is not the only valid UFO sighting in Houston on July 4th! More to come. As well, another set of UFOs showed up before a fireworks show in Fort Worth, as well! Right before a 4th of July fireworks show, the real show began. Several orbs poked out of the cloudy, late afternoon sky, and seemingly moved together in formation, blinking on and off. A crowd of people spot it and chatter as they film. Only one video has surfaced so far, but please let me know if you have anything to add! Below is the video description, video, comments from other witnesses, and more: "Spotted these about 5 minutes before the fireworks started." Here are some interesting comments from other Texans who might have seen the same thing, as far down as South Texas: I watch the same UFO over Houston for over 45 minutes - Tracey Starnes What do you guys think? Chinese lanterns? See video for comparison: ...Or something unexplainable, like Japan's now famous volcano lights? See video:
A group of friends hanging out near El Paso's rec center, the SAC, were in for quite the evening. They first noticed a lone bright light in the sky, strange enough for them to yank out a camcorder. As they did this, the UFO flew upward. They then grabbed a tripod, mounted the camera, and attempted to zoom in on the object. When doing this, a pale, vibrating diamond shape could be observed - likely some distortion with the recording, but still interesting and potentially helpful information for an investigator. Then, out of nowhere, a second orb rose over the horizon. I'm sure the witnesses would have loved to hang around for a good while more, but they heard gunshots and so decided to leave the scene. However, they did make another stop to see if they could get the UFO on camera again - but with no luck. They did, however, try to get footage of some typical stars, to serve as a reference, but the poor-quality camera could not pick them up. The ominous music and captions replace the actual audio going on at the scene, and I'm guessing (hoping) it's because the camera didn't have any audio recording, or something harmless like that. If that's not the case, it makes me slightly suspicious of the witness's testimony, which can be read below in more precise detail. But for the most part, the fact that (1) the video doesn't have any obvious evidence of being tampered with or hoaxed, (2) the UFOs both hovered and moved about, and (3) the YouTube account that posted the video is not known for posting other UFO sightings, makes me buy this. Then again, the YouTuber does admit to believing in aliens and immediately jumps to that conclusion for the encounter. Let me know if you saw something similar in El Paso on June 30th! I'll update this report later if I get any more insights. Meanwhile, here's the video: And the video description: While having a good time kicking it out in the desert behind the SAC we noticed a strange orb in the sky. It appeared to be descending while darting about. We decided to get the camera out and see if we could capture it on film. As soon as we brought out the camera it started heading back up to a higher altitude, still we were able to get some footage. Soon after we noticed something identical appear over the horizon, this one, much closer. We only got a few seconds of footage on this one because we had heard gunshots and deemed it unsafe to be there any longer. All of us present are firm believers in aliens and are positive that what we witnessed was extra terrestrial. And an interesting comment from the witness: We'll definitely be heading back or searching for new locations soon. Awesome, thanks for spreading the evidence! :)
Our favorite, most enthusiastic Texas UFO hunter East Texas UFOs has a new delivery (and a growing fan base, by the way). This time, he saw something in Lake O Pines, TX, versus his hometown, Longview. He records two bright flickering orange fireballs, sitting still and then moving slowly and quietly through the night sky, before vanishing. The witness can be heard on camera discussing his long history with these special UFOs - "the guys that changed [his] life." He was on his way to his new hometown (I think?) when he came across these and is elated to finally get footage of this particular type of UFO. He also explains how these orbs tend to follow a specific pattern, but unfortunately they don't follow the pattern he predicts. They do, however - very predictably, I might add - abruptly disappear. Unfortunately the video has no good references to completely confirm the narrator's imaginative analysis, but it's still a fun watch. Read the video description and watch the video below: At 10:20 PM at Lake, O the Pines TX, two UFOs appear above the water. I filmed as they raised in altitude. At about 10:25 PM the objects disappear without a trace. This is an ongoing occurrence that has been observed multiple times, and is still going on today. And here are some quotes from the witness: "Here we have a fireball... it's magnificent." And a few interesting comments on the video, including one from the UFO chaser himself and a few from folks who've had similar experiences: The area they were hovering over has an Island. Small but densely covered in 100 foot pine trees. I think they use that to morph or ect.. then go to the surrounding towns on and around the lake. But it is crazy, on a clear night they will always be there. Usually more than that, unseen on the video was a third one but I could not pick it up, so I left it be. - EastTexasUFOs I definitely suggest that you peruse East Texas UFOs' other recent videos, as I'm not even caught up with sharing them on TUS yet!
