A father and daughter witnessed a UFO over Austin, according to a recent report sent to NUFORC (case S159719). Check it out below: My daughter (10y.o.) and I had just returned from getting groceries. When I closed the trunk and proceeded toward the house I immediately noticed a white ball of light back behind the house. Probably 600 feet up. It just sat there for 20 to 30 seconds and tore off a cross the sky. And it was gone. When I walked towards the house I did realize my daughter had seen it till she said something. She said, "Daddy, that was NOT a shooting star." My first response was that I was happy she saw it cause I thought I was seeing things for a second. I actually looked at my security camera footage of us in the driveway walking up. Both my daughter and I stopped dead still at the same time and just stood there looking at this thing I don't know what is was but man that thing was FAST! Crazy stuff. Do you think this family saw something explainable, like a drone? Or is there something more mysterious going on? Let me know in the comments. If you think that you may have also seen this UFO, help crack this case by reporting your sighting!

A report detailing a large round UFO hovering and moving slowly and then disappearing over Austin has been sent to me: Large round object, bright as a full moon, and about 8 times the width of Venus, due south of my location at an elevation of approximately 30 degrees. Object hovered, moved laterally very slowly, descended, hovered, moved laterally again, then disappeared. From the time our group noticed it until it disappeared was approximately 2 minutes. There was no sound. Tower at ABIA reported the only flight in the area traveling in that direction at that time was at 275 knots, commercial airliner. We were too stunned to think to video the object. The witness claims that they were "too stunned" to video the object, and one reason I don't find this hard to believe is I saw a UFO before, and even though I documented UFOs at the time for this site, I also didn't think to video or photograph the event, because it was just all too shocking to me. Fortunately, there are plenty of witnesses who have overcome the shock and have photographed or video taped mysterious orbs of light, which seemed to be stars at first, but then they... MOVE... or disappear! Check out a recent sighting of orbs over Texas right here, as an example: 11/11/20 Update: I have followed up with the witness, whose name is Melanie (not MelAnie, my apologies), and they have shared that the only theories they've heard from others are "government satellite." However, the fact that the light did a "full circle around the (moon) within 1 minute" and "practically kissed the moon the left side," makes it very unlikely to be that -- or a drone, for that matter. I agree with Melanie's assessment. Satellites are slow and go in a straight line, whereas drones fly lower in the sky and are often noisy and even have blinking lights. To help us crack this case, Melanie has shared another photo of the mystery green orb, which really shows how close it got to the moon: Original story:
An Austin resident and her daughter were star gazing when they noticed a mysterious green light circling the moon! Check out the photos shared by Melanie Baccus to me on Facebook: My daughter wanted to go out & take pics of the low, Orange Moon the other night. To the far left there's a Star or Planet that never moved. You, or someone can tell me exactly what. The Green Orb wasn't visible to my eye, only in my phone camera lens. It came from bottom right. Circled around Moon Counter-Clockwise, practically kissed it on the left, then kept moving along. So weird! If I hadn't taken these photos myself, I wouldn't believe it! What could this strange orb of light be? Could it be something simple to explain like a drone, or is it much too high in the sky? Let me know what you think in the comments, and if you saw this as well, report your sighting!
"The object made a lightning fast ‘circular’ movement before disappearing" - UFO Over Austin1/17/2020
A report of an "unusually bright object" hovering and making a fast circular motion before disappearing in the sky, has been submitted to MUFON (case 105583) along with a picture: A unusually bright in the sky Believe it or not, I often read testimonies from people who stop to observe a pretty twinkling star, only to notice it... move!
What's peculiar about this sighting, however, is the spiral that the UFO does. That had me wondering if it could have been a meteor or shooting/exploding star? There was only one fireball report filed Texas for the night January 15th, however, and it was far north of Austin in San Angelo. But as with UFOs, not all fireballs and meteors get reported or noticed! What do you think of this witness testimony and drawing? Let me know! Did you see this disappearing "star" as well? Report your sighting!
Several folks in Central Texas witnessed a very strange string of lights glide through the sky in the early hours of Tuesday morning. I've seen reports out of Austin and Houston, so far:
Starlink Satellites to blame?
But it turns out that aliens are probably not invading the Lone Star State. SpaceX launched a "fleet of Starlink satellites" on January 6th, and so many online are suggesting that Elon Musk is really to blame for these UFO sightings! Based on the launch date, and other photos of Starlink satellites I've seen in the past, this theory holds a lot of water:
Where most reports of UFOs were reported, Houston:
What Starlink satellite looks like from down on the ground (pretty amazing looking):
That said, with the increase of man-made advanced craft, from drones to satellites, we should be careful to not be so quick to judge or debunk a UFO sighting. After all, there are famous sightings from the past that are very similar to the "Starlink train," and so we what are we to make of these sightings? Would they be incorrectly debunked as our own satellites if they were seen again today?
Compare photos of the famous Lubbock Lights (1951) and Stephenville lights (2008) to recent sightings of SpaceX satellite launches and let me know what you think... maybe our technology is catching up to ET's?
As always, share your opinions on this sighting and more in the comments below, or on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
