A Texas resident (@thearredondostx) watching and filming the Total Solar Eclipse over Arlington, Texas on Monday got more than they expected when they noticed a dark gray, seemingly quite speedy, rod-shaped object dart through the clouds! Footage of the sighting was posted to Tik Tok: 
The video has since circulated on social media, spawning online debates (like this one on ufologist John Greenwald's X page) about whether or not it shows an alien spaceship or something simpler - like a fast-moving helicopter or plane.
I found a similar report out of Ohio, but haven't found any other similar reports so far: 
I am in Central Texas and I didn't see a UFO on April 8th, or the eclipse for that matter, due to the cloudy weather. (But it was still a really amazing experience - everything went dark for several minutes and the wind picked up!)
It's not terribly uncommon for people to see strange things in the sky during eclipses. But is that because aliens are visiting, or more people are just looking up? You be the judge! A security camera captured a pretty strange sight in Corpus Christi, according to a recent MUFON report (case 125125). In the video below, you can see a black, long, rod-shaped object with appendages (or wires) suddenly appear and then disappear. Although this could very well be a bug (compare the image below to the image of dragonfly further down on the page), I'm fascinated with its speed; note how you can see the bird flying in the background very normally, whereas this bug just comes out of nowhere (and then promptly disappears). Check out the report and let me know what you think:  Compare the still above to a picture of a dragonfly. Is it possible the security camera just captured a bug?  Another reason I thought we should take a look at this, is this also somewhat resembles a drone! And drones are getting tinier and tinier... we are really going to have trouble with security camera footage if drones start mixing together with the bugs.

Twitter user Spectre67904513 suggested it could be a plane with a contrail behind it, and although contrails can create some pretty mysterious sights, I don't think that's what the video shows. Twitter user SwinkInc, on the other hand, suggested something more reasonable (in my opinion), a cylindrical-shaped drone, like what the one shown below. What do you think?  What do you think? A video showing an elongated, glowing object flying through the sky over Weslaco, Texas was uploaded to YouTube. The witness was watching a car show when they noticed something strange in the sky:   "UFO I caught in video while attending a car show.. No sound. It was traveling northwest at a fast speed. All I can see is 6 square shapes forming a rectangle; bright in a gold color." Now, as a UFO researcher, I do have a pretty lengthy checklist I put UFO photos and videos through. And one possible explanation for what we are seeing here is a... balloon. But there's no way to tell without more witness info, evidence, and review.

In the late 1800s, a wave of mysterious air ships were seen flying over the United States, in particular California and Texas. We know that some of the newspaper stories were hoaxes, but perhaps even more of them were describing man-made craft. However, craft that shouldn't have existed at the time, according to the mainstream history of flight... craft that seemed to fly faster and farther than the dirigibles and airplanes that followed in the 1900s. Not to mention, some of the sightings included encounters with strange humanoid beings. The most famous of these cases was the April 17th, 1897 Aurora, Texas UFO encounter. Well, just one night before the legendary Aurora encounter, according to the Brownsville, Texas Herald, an air ship was seen passing over Dallas, and this led to speculation otherworldly visitors:  "It may have been an optical illusion, but Dallas tonight is wavering between science and revelations over the air ship. It passed north of this city tonight at 8 o'clock going from East to West and was witnessed by hundreds, including such men as Judge A.T. Watts, formerly of the High Court and Dr. R. C. Kopesh, who describe it as being only about 200 feet from the ground and in appearance similar to the air ship seen in different parts of the country. Preachers say it is from the other world and is the avant courier of the second coming of Christ. They say that if it was an earthly device it would be seen by day as well as by night." A cigar-shaped UFO was seen moving slowly over Central Texas a few months ago. Testimony was sent in to NUFORC (case S168761): Tube shaped object gray in color and then turned into a brilliant light and was gone. Although no photos or videos were taken of this incident, many "Cigar" UFOs are reported in Texas. However, there could be easy explanations, like SpaceX or a blimp. However, if the witness is correct that the UFO moved slowly and then took off with great speed, that is head -scratching.
