Although no photos or videos were taken of the amazing encounter, eight witnesses in total lived to tell about it. In the fall of 1966, eight male construction workers were digging in a rural area north of Edinburgh, Texas when a UFO approached them. The men panicked and it's possible that they shot their guns up at the UFO. The mysterious craft then reportedly shot down beams of light onto their construction site, which subsequently caught on fire. The entire site, including two vehicles and a small mobile home or RV, was destroyed. Another local reported seeing a cigar-shaped UFO in the area around the same time, and so this may be the same UFO that caused all the destruction. Sheriff E. E. Vickers believed the people were from the nearby Moore Air Base.

I appreciate you posting this incredible story that I've been investigating for about 10 years after the son of the principal witness came forward. Deputy sheriff Milo Ponce was a highly respected local law enforcement agent and jurist who later became the county judge for Hidalgo county. Now deceased, he has a county park named after him. His son, Joe Ponce, remembers vividly the story of this UFO encounter told by his dad, and Joe remembers visiting the site of the incident the morning after it happened, where he witnessed the devastation. This situation is not uncommon. There have been a number of reports in which UFO's have fired back at individuals who have fired upon them even if one would think small arms fire should not pose a threat to the craft in question. Leave a Reply. |
