Great Green Ball of Fire! - Another Mass Meteor Sighting in Texas

• When: September 12th, 2013
• Where: All over Texas: College Station, Houston, and Lufkin
• What: Green meteor

A giant green fireball was spotted by many Texans on the night of September 12th, and some even got to see and hear it explode!, according to AMSMeteors.org:

Was at a football game and saw what appeared to be a large light green tinted meteor that had come from over my right side and went north. Ended in an explosion. Never saw one before. Surprised by color. - Jackie H

We also saw 2 fireballs of relatively the same magnitude and duration (different speeds) in the same night of 9/6/13 from the same location (pool) in College Station - Tommy H

Recently I put a post together about the uptick in meteor sightings in August and September, and well, this is just another one to add to the lot! I'm quite used to the rhythm of UFO and meteor sightings, and we're definitely seeing a healthy amount of sky activity right now!
