Well, the latest report of "booms" and "trumpet" noises is coming out of East Texas, and those noises come along with all kinds of strange, flashing lights of all colors and varieties. Read the full account, submitted anonymously to Lights in the Texas Sky: We live in East Texas, close to a small town called Gilmer. Starting late 2011 we started seeing a flashing light in the sky. It comes from all around you in the sky. It is diffuse, you can’t see it straight on. It seems to come from your peripheral vision. Sort of like a flash blub going off behind you. You do not see where it comes from. When they first started they were faint and at first we wondered if we were really seeing them. Then they stopped for a while. When they restarted they were a bit stronger and have become stronger over the course of the last several months. People have been hearing weird booms and trumpeting sounds throughout the world, this is not a new phenomenon (I've reported on it many times) and it's not just happening in Texas: It seems to me other folks should be hearing this stuff. If you're one of those lucky(?) folks, report it!

Denison Tx, 11/29/2013. Series of loud booms about 8pm. heard outside, and also heard inside house. Contacted police, but did not request assistance. Heard boom again during day on 11/30/2013. Very weird.

Seven Points/Tool, Texas (about an hour southeast of Dallas). Yesterday almost 6:30pm, my husband and I were sitting in the house with no TV or anything on. We heard a low-sounding boom - your canon-sound description is a good one. Last time we heard something like this was when the fertilizer plant in West exploded. Anyway, he went outside & looked around but didn't see anything.

was tailgating at a texas aggie football game and a friend and I both heard what sounded strange at first, and we looked at each other and he said did you hear that and I said yes it sounded like a horn, we heard it twice at different times, but it was really a strange sound.

I was outside to see if the clouds had cleared so I could see the super moon eclipse when I saw a flash of light. I thought I was Imagining it so I continued to look up in the sky. I saw 4 more lights then another one come from behind me and it sort of circle around. It happens so fast. It is cloudy out but I could see these lights through the clouds. I came in and googled mysterious flashing lights in east Texas and I came to this site. I live in mineola and am outside all the time. Durring the day and at night and have never seen these lights before. I also heard the boom so.e of you talk about but it was faint. I dont know what it is but its got me wondering.

I live outside of Bullard in a small town called Teaselville.i was sitting inside with my dogs when i heard what i first dismissed as thunder. I soon realized the sound wasn't disappearing it fading at all. I went outside and could tell the sound was coming from the north. I couldn't pinpoint exactly where, only that it definitely wasnt coming from the south. The best way i could describe the noise is as being a loud, deep, constant WHOOSH, WHOOSH, WHOOSH. I don't live near anything that is big enough to be making noises that could be heard far off like this. Id like to think that maybe others have heard this noise....
