The Mighty Texas UFO Recap of May 2013

Wow, what a month this is turning out to be!... I can only imagine what's in store for us this Memorial Day weekend. Sorry in advance for this lengthy, light-on-investigation post. I got majorly behind on the latest sightings and need to play catch up. This is a list of recent sightings that I missed, not the full list of recent sightings!

I will be comparing these reports to other recent reports over the coming days and see if there are any correlations (I'm sure there are).

May 1st: San Antonio

May 7th: Alpine, Del Rio, Texarkana, & Corsicana

MUFON report: ... My eyes were drawn to 2 blinking lights that seemed to be out toward 118 North. They were far apart but perfectly in line with each other and kept blinking red, not at the same time and not in any pattern that I could notice but like they were blinking at each other. ... They were perfectly motionless for about 3 full minutes, just blinking red. No movement whatsoever. Then, they just faded away. ... They were already there when I stepped outside. I will also add that there was no sound, but I attribute that to them being so far away ... This morning I called our local municipal airport to inquire about the lights, and asked about government drones. The man I spoke with confirmed that drones don't fly this far inland ... he did state that what I probably saw were helicopters but they don't usually fly in pairs or in groups of more than one around here. He also confirmed that there was no air traffic ... he didn't want them [drones] here. So, I have been left baffled. When I first saw these lights, I immediately dropped the broom I was holding, turned off my porch light and stared stunned. We live in a dark sky community and I know what airplanes look like at night. This was something I had never seen before and could not take my eyes off of them. My heart began beating quickly and it just left me kind of numb and in deep thought the rest of the night. I've also had a headache (even as I type this), ever since coming back into the house last night. ... I do live near the airport and I am the wife of a border patrol agent, ... I have a friend who saw a very similar event about 2 weeks ago.

MUFON report: ... noticed the blue green light in the sky coming down as if it was a plane landing, then I notice it go upward in the same place it just came down, then it moved sideways and down, in a circular motion. My husband is a skeptic and I asked him what that was since he has an explanation for everything. He began watching the light move around in opposite directions and circular movements when it went below the tree line. We saw the object hovering around the treeline and then it disappeared  ... The skeptic admits it was a UFO ,,, NOTE: I thought the light was green and my husband thought it was blue.

MUFON report: ... I thought might be a helicopter hovering off to side of road ... surprised that lights were bright ... appeared to be at ends of a rectangle shape ... I could then see a bright yellow (like bright traffic light yellow) also in shape of bars, not glaring but bright ...These lights did not look like ANY aircraft ...The lights were almost like a police car's lights or bright traffic light, but bigger, elongated and steady. It was Really strange ... have seen a lot of aircraft and lights and towers and this was nothing like that. It just hung up there, but it may have been moving slowly. ... Hopefully somebody else saw it too. Please post if you did. There was a LOT of Friday night traffic from and to Houston-Dallas route. Somebody's bound to have seen it. B.D. Dallas area.

MUFON report: I thought to myself "Is that star moving?" ... there were 3 stars in a triangle pattern, the top right star all of a sudden started moving. ... I didn't see any clouds at all and thought it was strange but it must have been a satellite. but right after it disappeared I noticed another one moving in the same direction same same level as if it were following the first one and disappeared just about the same spot. ... they looked just like all the other stars in the sky. ... I found a post from someone online that I believe saw the same thing. UFO blogger site I think. ... believe I was looking in the direction of Alpine ... I had gone inside and posted it on Facebook that night as well.The post is still there

May 9th, Sugar Land: ("debunked" by a commenter as lens flare)

MUFON report: Took photo of severe storm. Nothing was visible to the eye. Didnt notice "lights" until later when looking at pic.

May 11th: Houston and Southlake

MUFON report: ... I saw a shiny object moving at a rate of speed no plane could match ... saucer shape or something like it ... This object went into a small cloud ... I should have been able to see him come out ... Not sure what I saw, but I don't think it was any kind of plane

May 12th: San Antonio and Comanche

Tweet: saw a UFO today...
it was silver and it was just hovering. Then it disappeared. I saw it during the day on Monday with my brother.

MUFON report: ... a light in the sky caught my attention ... it was flying a straight path across the sky to the north ... had no flashing or multicolored lights like you would see on an airplane or helicopter. I pulled over on the side of the rode ... It was spherical and a dark orange in color. The center of the sphere was a pale yellow or off-white color. By the time I got my phone on video mode, it was going behind a tree then vanished ... She drove up to where I was parked and said, "Did you just see that?" We both were nervous and excited about what we had just witnessed. Neither one of us had ever seen anything like it before and we are both over 40. We had the exact same perceptions re: color, speed, size, etc. and both agreed it did not look like a typical aircraft of any kind. My video ... it's the orange light that goes through the trees, not the bright white light above it.

May 13th: Dallas, Arlington, and San Antonio

MUFON report: Went outside to check on the cat when I seen a bright red flashing light flying just above the tree tops near to the highway...Traveling fast...No noise...Heading East

Tweet: So I may or may not (but definitely did) have seen a UFO or six over Dallas tonight. Totally not joking ... They started hooking, going up & down, and going CRAZY fast. Looked like airplanes, but moving in a way no modern aircraft can... no way a plane...

May 16th: Dallas

Tweet: I swear I Just saw a UFO.
It was a very bright light during the rain last night. I kept my eye on it for a couple seconds and it just disappeared.
