January 30th, 2016 Update: Reports of strange sounds in Texas continue December 2014 Update: Strange sounds return to Texas and world. You may be familiar with the Taos hum or the recent wave of weird rumbling sounds heard across the country, including Texas. Well, most recently, this humming sound - which only a minority of unfortunate Texans are able to hear - popped up in Round Rock, and now people in Cedar Park and McAllen are sharing their tales.
Here's testimony from a McAllen resident, given to Lights in the Texas Sky:
Hi I read your article on the "Hum" and just wanted to say that I live in Mcallen, TX and I can hear it here too. I've lived in two separate locations within the last year here in the same town and I have heard it at both. I'm a student so I study late at night usually from midnight to sometimes 5am. I notice the sound also usually around 2-3am...it really hurts my ears and gives me a bad headache. I've woken up my boyfriend to listen for it but he never hears it. I figured maybe I was just able to pick up a different frequency....but it's strange that it only happens within that time frame. I had to start listening to music to drown out the sound because it was really unbearable for me.
And one from Cedar Park, also given to Lights in the Texas Sky:
We live in Cedar Park, which is not far from Round Rock, TX. I have been hearing a low rumbling, noise that sounds very much like the noises that are being heard in Round Rock, TX. I have asked my Mother many times, if she hears it, and she sometimes does and sometimes doesn't. It is always late at night between 11:00-2:00 when I hear it. I cannot pinpoint the exact area it is coming from because it seems to emanate from below the ground or in the sky. It is loud, constant and luckily I don't hear it in my bedroom, which is on the North side of the house (I hear the noises only outside on the South side of the house). I sure would like to know what is making these noises, if you find out please let us know. View Central TX Hum in a larger map

Someone noticed something very strange in the sky on a web cam still from a Houston construction site. I'm trying to get more details, but so far all we have is this puzzling photo: We'd certainly like to see the before-and-after stills. This definitely appears to be a craft, but as with any web cam, there's really no way of telling! It could simply be an illusion. If it was actually a craft, it was big enough to be seen by anyone in the area. Apparently, there were some bright rocket boosters that went over Houston on the same night, perhaps explaining another sighting on the same night. Let me know if you saw it! Here's the full report, submitted to MUFON: Not present as it was taken on a web cam at the University of Houston new football stadium site. And a possible explanation, from the comments of another sighting that occurred the same night: On the night in question Houston area had 3 rocket booster go over with the brightness of 1.2 to 2.2. - Fletcher
A local Texan - "EastTexasUFOs" - has collected quite the following over the past few months, and one of his latest video offerings might be one of his best to date. The dedicated UFO chaser is well-liked for his, well, regular sightings, harrowing, suspenseful commentary, and obligatory music soundtrack. This time around, he spots an extremely large, silent craft with many, multi-colored lights. In the end, he'll share his flight tracker app, which proves that there were no known crafts in the area at the time. Here's a video still: Hang on tight, here's the vid: And here's the video description: On a drive back from work, I notice two strange amber colored lights following me as I race home to get my camera. What we see is the tail end of the last one post morph. I was lucky catch this as mild form of proof it actually happened. See video in the response to see one morph. And this Texan UFO hunter has lots of fans. Comments on his videos are all along the lines of this: I think i had an adrenaline rush just watching-so i totally understand how you must have been feeling.I love your vids, it's nearly like i'm there with you.I really appreciate what you are doing to help bring this topic to more people. Thanks- Geoff -
An Austin area resident was bewildered by a pretty bizarre sight in the sky: a green turtle-like object circling through the sky, which would disappear in the clouds off and on. Could this have simply been a balloon, or perhaps a laser light display, as suggested by a commenter? Here's the full reported, submitted to SightingsReport.com: I was on the balcony at my apartments an I was sitting talking to my brother an I was looking at the sky at the shape of the clouds then a neon turtoise black in the middle object was circling in the clouds an I didn't know what it is when I saw I never seen nothin like this in my life an I look up every type of plane an jets that we have but this was A perfect circle an we went down theran it change position an was hovering over us so we went back in the house to the balcony An it came back to place it was an it stayed there more then a hour circling around the apartments in the clouds but how I lost view of it because the clouds went away so I couldn't see itbecause I only could see it though the clouds an it was invisible in the clear sky so this is crazy so I need answers. And a comment, with a possible explanation. This sounds like it could have been a laser display. One of the best mediums to reflect laser images on are clouds. The fact that you could only see it when the clouds were present would suggest a laser interpretation for the sighting. And I just had to share this classic UFO video, prepare to LOL your pants off:
A San Antonio, Texan watched a strange craft and a bright orange orb seem to interact with each other and mysteriously disappear. The witness is no stranger to UFOs, though - this is the second time they've seen a weird anomaly in the sky and they chalk it up to the many nearby military bases. Here's the full report, submitted to MUFON: i was at the drive thru at a fast food place and i looked out the window at and saw this blinking light.at first i thought it was a plane cause it was just blinking. then it started blinking really fast 3 blinks at a time really bright.and about a min later this small orange ball of light just appeared right behind this blinking light. this blinking light kept going on a straight path but the orange ball was stationary the whole time the object was visible. then the blinking light just blinked out and i couldnt see it anymore but the orange ball was still there for 5 min . right before it disappeared it blinked one time and it was gone! i have no idea what this thing was! this is the second sighting in san antonio tx that iv seen . san antonio tx has the most bases in all of the united states.
