With drone technology getting better and better, spotting UFOs is going to become a more common - but also, more confusing - experience than ever. Before drones, every UFO would get routinely debunked as "weather balloons" or "XYZ." Now the favorite go-to will be drones. So it's important we monitor both and get to know the differences. Here's a great detailed testimony from reader ZPH of such an encounter. Did this witness see a drone, or something else entirely (mundane, military or supernatural)? It was about 11:45 p.m.12 ish Sunday night Monday morning when I was in my parents back yard smoking a cigaret I noticed a bright red light at the corner of my eye the house is located on the west side of Meandering way between Cambell rd and Mucallum blvd. anyways the bright red light was 30 to 40 above the neighbors tree I know it wasn't a plane I took a closer look and appeared to be almost sphere shape with a red and A blue light it moved at a high speed in different directions and disappeared....I am also aware that the Far north Dallas police station is a mile North of the Hill crest manor neighborhood Did you see this object as well? Help crack the case by reporting your sighting.

A Texas couple spotted a large, low flying, triangular shaped object flying overhead. The husband had a rifle scope so was able to get a good view and share a drawing of the craft. Check out that, as well as the wife's testimony, below, which were both submitted to MUFON: Walked outside to see what my husband was doing (he was checking on a stump he had been burning) and as soon as I walked out from under the carport I heard a low, but still loud roar or rumble maybe of a plane-like object and when I looked up I saw an extremely large, long/narrow triangular shaped craft about to go directly over us. I yelled for my husband to look up and asked him what it was we were looking at and he just stood there speechless with me as we watched it fly very slowly over us. It was lower than any plane flies over out here, but not just that close (not just above the trees or anything). From my view, I saw one red blinking light in sort of a square shape right in the center and 2 white lights closer to the end corners that never blinked. I could vaguely make out detailed compartments or pieces of the underside as it was right above my head and it slowly made its way across the sky past my view due to trees. My husband had enough tome to run and grab his rifle with a scope and look thru it and see the object up closer than I did, and said at the front (cockpit I suppose?) was 3 windows or something that were lit up from the inside, and describes the rest just as I did. We were astounded, never seeing anything like this before, and cannot figure out what it could be. We are assuming just some sort of military plane, but can't help but think UFO. We hope to get some sort of info, explanation or others near who might have seen the same thing.
Remember the hovering lights in Mason from a few nights ago? Well a little bit before that, someone else reported a similar sight in Austin. They were able to get the last three minutes of the encounter on video. In the footage, you can see two red lights hovering and then another hovering light visited by a helicopter or plane (or perhaps another UFO) - but you can also hear the witness describe the several lights they saw beforehand: Stepped outside during a phone call and immediately spotted a strange light moving in an unusual direction for area aircraft. Steady orange glow, moving horizontal in the northern sky right to left. Within about 20 seconds a group of three more, and another group of five came into view all traveling the same speed, altitude and path. They all made a gentle turn toward the north and each dimmed as it made the turn, as if the lights were coming from their fronts. More kept appearing to the east and traveled the same path. This went on for several minutes, and I filmed the last three. The most I could see at once were 8- all spread out across the sky, and traveling the same path. They varied from about 10 degrees above the horizon to 20 degrees. Some a appeared a bit closer than other. I would have thought them to be helicopters, but there were no navigation lights and I could not hear any noise whatsoever. They appeared identical. Have you seen a collection of lights hovering? Do you think it's something else besides Chinese lanterns? Report your sighting.
And, as always, share your thoughts in the comments or on the Facebook page.
Texas UFO Sightings has gotten an influx of reports that seem awfully similar to Chinese lanterns, which is not uncommon during the summer months. However, this particular sighting happened on a Thursday night (which is not a common day of week to see Chinese lanterns) and if you really dig into the description, this seems like something else entirely: Not sure if it was ufo or military. 10 objects hung in the sky and then an entire line of them that stretched for miles showed up. I just wanted to know if they were military activities or ufo. Not many military aircraft look like missiles hanging in the sky. they were there for quite some time. A friend pulled up to see what was going on and they saw them, too. Blew it off as air planes. One glance away to scold him and when I looked back they were all gone. ALL of them. Here's a video of Chinese lanterns so you can get a feel for how easily they can surprise unknowing onlookers: And to be fair, here's a video of a group of similar looking objects (which were part of a mass sighting from just this past spring) - these are not Chinese lanterns and so, to this day, remain UFOs:
July 19th, 2015 Update: To clarify, the daytime photo shows what is likely Jupiter and Venus (the two extra bright stars in the sky right now), however the witness snapped this photo before witnessing the UFO that moves in the video. So I wanted to share these pieces together - do you see any light in the daytime photo that could be the same one in the video? Is it possible one of these lights is not Jupiter or Venus (since this picture was taken before dark)? A Texan saw a strange star-like object by the moon and snapped a daytime photo. They apparently got footage of the object moving around as well, but that is nighttime footage and kind of hard to make out. Check it all out for yourself: there was a weird moon observed then this light started flashing and moving in weird patterns Did you see this UFO in the Little Elm area, too? Report your sighting!
